Arakawa Koji was but a generous high school student that lived a carefree life. However, everything changed when he transmigrated into the world of Dysilia. On top of waking up inside the body of Yulian to an unknown world without notice, he was discriminated against by his peers.
Mana is an essential essence to synthesize and manifest magic. Dealan, a country specialized in the prosperity of the arcade, was land to the great minds of Dysilia. The citizens of Dealan decide the worth of a person by the knowledge and power they have over the arcane. Yulian, who had none, was discriminated against by his peers as well as his parents. Therefore, Yulian was exiled from the Blahzen continent.
Yulian traveled the lands of Tranvinka, a country famed for its barbaric glory. Struggling to survive, he entered the colosseum of Alexander where people duel to the death to decide who was the strongest. Those who are worthy to dethrone the champion were granted the country's treasures and fame that reached the ears all over Dysilia.
…Yulian was overwhelmed by formidable magic, failing to even pass the first round.
Dying in starvation, Yulian howled towards the heavens, "Why must you forsaken me!" A mysterious light pierced through the clouds, fascinating Yulian. There a figure of a woman appeared before him.
"Never once I forsaken you," proclaimed Minerva as she descended from the sky.
"How would you explain the hardships in which I barely escaped!"
"It was all but a test, traveller," Minerva assured the distressed Yulian.
Minerva explained the cycle of reincarnation and how she manipulated it in order for Arakawa Koji to possess Yulian. She needed a righteous soul to inherit her power, to eradicate the forces of Zudris and those who wish to revive the evil god.
"And what would I have in return for completing such a tedious task," Yulian asked.
"You would become the light of this world," Minerva said. "And with my power, you will have the potential to become a God yourself. After becoming such, you may wish to return to your world."
The child of light, that was the meaning of his name during his previous life. It tempted Yulian in the back of his mind. With no hesitation, he was given the power of Emptiness. Receiving this power grants you the ability to create an empty magic circle. The magic circle copies information from existing sources such as magic.
And thus, the story of Yulian the mirror sage began.
