A beautiful face could be seen staring through the open window. With a smile on her face, Vanessa graced her skin with the first light of the morning's sun. The other students below were mesmerized by her unfathomable beauty, for she was like an angel from the world beyond.
Vanessa was the perfect girl, but she was not yet the perfect student. Matthew's coaching had impacted on her positively as her lecturers were quite pleased with her answers to the examination questions. The name Vanessa had spread throughout the school, not only because of her mesmerizing beauty, but because of her ability to excel in anything she's tasked with – from academics to soccer, from soccer to music and from music to dancing. Every guy was dying to get her, but Vanessa wasn't the kind of girl that would succumb to just any guy.
It had been two weeks since she contacted her father but she did not miss him one bit, rather, she felt aggravated with the fact that her father had told her to stay away from Stephan. He had totally transformed into a new person with a personality that was contrary to the one he had before which solidified her positive impression of him.
Her father, of course, had written to her but Vanessa's hatred for him made her burn all of his letters without even reading them. Oh shit! I'm supposed to meet Matthew at the library this morning!
Vanessa grabbed her bag pack, tossed all the essentials inside it before exiting her room. She ran has fast as her legs could carry her to the library. Reaching the libraries door, she bumped into someone. This someone was called The Reaper and he was notoriously known for ruining the lives of students in Rollins.
Seeing Vanessa, he put on a belligerent grin, "Miss Rousse I presume! You are as beautiful as they say. Wanna dine with me?"
"And why would I want to do that?" Vanessa frowned at him. Unlike most people, she did not tremble in fear when she looked right into his eyes.
The Reaper also studied Vanessa's perfectly shaped eyes. Her alluring blue eyes made his heart skip by beats – this was a phenomenon that had not happened in to The Reaper in years. He lost his balance and fell to the ground which shocked Vanessa, the onlookers and he himself.
Vanessa felt guilty for making him fall and so she stretched out her hands to help him up, "I'm sorry for startling you like that."
"No… No… It's okay…" The Reaper hurriedly got himself up before walking out of the scene.
"Did she just make Damon fall?"
"I think she did!"
Vanessa ignored the compliments others gave her before walking towards Matthew's table, "Hi Matthew!"
Matthew sighed with a frown, "Just sit already."
Vanessa obeyed without hesitation. She noticed the dark circles under his eyes and immediately knew something was up. "What's wrong?"
"Why don't you guess?" Matthew frowned even more.
"Are you facing some problems with your department?"
"Ciara left me! She packed up all her stuff and just left with her friends without telling me shit!" Matthew replied.
"Why would she do something like that?" Vanessa asked in shock.
"You really don't know?" Matthew frowned at Vanessa as his gaze gave off an aura of hostility."
"Why would I know?"
"She left me because of you!" Matthew slammed his fist on the table as he rose to his feet. "I'm always here in the library helping you with your courses while she's always out there waiting for me to come to her despite knowing that I'm always with you! I should've never met you in the first place – if I didn't, I would never have developed these feelings for you!"
Vanessa was struck dumb once again. She had always wanted Matthew as her boyfriend but she never wanted it to happen like this. "Matthew… I'm sorry."
"There is no need for you to apologize Nessa, after all, It's not your fault that he succumbed to your incredible beauty." Stephan walked towards their table.
"Shut up Stephan! You have no idea how much she has ruined my life!" Matthew roared out in anger.
"Well, if you like her why don't you just ask her out, I'm sure she will be thrilled to be your girlfriend," Stephan took a sit next to Vanessa.
"I…" Vanessa was totally short of words. She had absolutely no idea what to say.
"C'mon Matt, just ask her out – I know you badly want her! Her scent alone drives you crazy, doesn't it?"
Vanessa turned to face Stephan, "What are you talking about?"
"Oh, I'm guessing he didn't tell you," Stephan's smile widened, "Yesterday, Matthew, Francis and I; we went to the pub and we spoke about you."
"About me? What do you mean?"
"We all find you attractive Vanessa. You're the girl who stole our hearts. We are all in love with you." Stephan's hand moved towards her face, but Francis caught it in mid-air.
"What do you think you're doing?" Francis frowned upon Stephan's behavior.
"What do you think I'm doing? I'm confessing my feelings to her! I'm taking the bold step and making her mine!" Stephan replied harshly.
Meanwhile, The Reaper stood at the library's entrance watching the boys fight over one girl. As a matter of fact, he wasn't too surprised that they fell for her beauty because he himself had already developed a thing for her. He felt the urge to join the boys and confess his feelings too, but he knew that unlike them, he had no place in her heart since they were just acquaintances. Also, apart from being just 'The Reaper', he was also known for attracting the ladies. Girls come to him, and not the other way around.
Their drama had already gotten the attention of everyone in the library. A boy who was famously known as TC [Town Crier], quickly revealed phone and went live immediately. The library supervisor wanted to intervene, but after seeing Stephan amongst the boys, he stopped in his tracks. He had almost lost his job once because of an incident that was related to Stephan four years ago.
The headline – Three boys confess their love for the same girl! – quickly went viral on the school's platform with viewers scaling above 200,000! TC's subscribers doubled in numbers as more comments were made on his live video!
"Vanessa, tell us now; which one of us would you like to be your boyfriend?" Francis asked.
"Tell us the truth!" Stephan added.
Matthew was silent at first, but then, he thought about it deeply. The probability of Vanessa picking him as her boyfriend was really high since they were quite familiar with each other and spent most of their time together. He finally moved his lips, "Tell us Nessa, who do you want?"
The three boys put Vanessa in a difficult situation. Having to choose a boyfriend from her boy friends totally juxtaposed her decision-making control system. She had no idea how to reply to their questions. Francis and Stephan were both good friend of hers so, if she were to choose Matthew, they wouldn't be happy about it.
"Who do you need?"
"Tell us Nessa!"
"Make your choice! I love you with all my heart!"
At this point, The Reaper had no choice but to step into their drama, "You guys are so disgusting."
