Chereads / The Adventure of Arion / Chapter 10 - Tiered family

Chapter 10 - Tiered family

As the ceremony progressed, Arion's heart pounded with anticipation as his name was called. He rose from his seat, feeling a surge of nervous energy coursing through his veins as he made his way to the front of the room.

The audience watched intently as Arion approached the orb, their eyes curious and expectant. Arion took a deep breath, steadying himself as he reached out to touch the shimmering surface of the orb.

For a moment, nothing happened. Arion's heart skipped a beat as he feared that he might not have an elemental affinity after all. But then, a warm glow enveloped his hand, spreading outwards to engulf the orb in a brilliant light.

Gasps of awe rippled through the crowd as the orb transformed before their eyes, its surface shimmering with hues of radiant gold and fiery red.

Arion's breath caught in his throat as he watched the dazzling display unfold, a sense of wonder and excitement filling his soul.

And then, with a sudden burst of energy, the orb erupted in a blinding flash of light and flame.

Sparks danced in the air, illuminating the room with their fiery glow as Arion's awakening reached its climax.

When the light finally faded, Arion stood before the crowd, his eyes blazing with newfound power.

In one hand, he held the essence of light, a radiant energy that pulsed with divine power. In the other, he wielded the element of fire, a fierce and primal force that burned with untamed intensity.

As Arion returned to his seat, The knowledge that he possessed such potent elemental powers filled him with a sense of exhilaration and anticipation for the adventures that lay ahead.

And as an added bonus, he earned a point simply for attending the ceremony, a small reward that further fueled his determination to excel on his journey of growth and discovery.

"AND WITH THAT THE CEREMONY IS OVER!!"

The announcer's booming voice echoed through the hall, signaling the end of the proceedings.

With a final flourish, he exited the grand stage and disappeared into the backroom, leaving the assembled crowd to disperse and continue their day.

Seraphina and Arion had stood and were heading toward the exit before they stopped noticing a commotion in front of them

A group of Tiered family representatives had gathered near the entrance, their imposing presence drawing the attention of the crowd.

Seraphina's brow furrowed in concern as she exchanged a glance with Arion, sensing that something important was about to happen.

They edged closer to the crowd, their curiosity piqued as they tried to catch snippets of the conversation among the gathered elites.

"Why do you continue to ignore me? I'm from the Banner Family Tier 3, You're only a Tier 2 brat"

A kid said who was slightly larger than the other kids here, with bright green hair.

He was talking to the grey-eyed girl whose name was Liyah Grey, who seemed to have a nervous look on her face.

Not from the boy confronting her, but from her noticing the crowd starting to pay her more attention staring at them.

The green-haired kid continued to stare at her ignoring or probably not even noticing the crowd starting to form around them curious about the situation.

"Accept the marriage proposal my family has sent" the boy continued

Arion remembered this boy during the ceremony his name being Gerald and him having an affinity for the lighting attribute.

The boy tried to step closer to her, but was pushed away by the boy with red eyes and raven black hair named Tee Raven.

"She not interested, leave her alone" Tee who at this point was clenching his fist in anger because some Tier 3 Family brat thought he could threaten them.

Gerald had stumbled back almost falling over, but luckily had caught himself and saved him some embarrassment.

The boy had collected his composure and was about to retaliate against this youth, he activated his mana core to crudely surround his body with mana getting ready to fight.

Arion almost laughed at loud at how the poor boy struggled to control his mana, reminding him of himself when he was just one year old.

However, he quickly composed himself, he was tired of this situation, and quickly activated his aura around his body ready to dash in.

Seraphina seeing her son about to take action, quickly she locked all the bodyguards in the area in an instant with her aura alone preventing any of them from interfering with what was about to happen.

Just as Gerald was about to dash in to attack Tee, his vision was completely flipped upside down and he felt his body floating in the air. Then suddenly his body was slammed into the ground with a force that knocked the wind out of him, leaving him gasping for air and unable to move.

In an instant, Arion had appeared behind Gerald and suplex him to oblivion.

The kids who were still inside the hall observing the situation were baffled at how someone their age was able to move that fast, and the guards who were with the Tiered family were baffled at the fact they couldn't move their bodies.

Arion stood up straight and dusted himself off, his expression calm and composed.

He turned around to look at the poor youth he had just put into the marble floor, giving him a look of pity like he didn't just do it himself.

"Who are you"

The grey-eyed boy inquired named Koby.

Arion turned around to look at the boy.

"ah my name is Arion" Arion said reaching out to shake the boy's hand.

The boy looked at his hand before deciding to shake it, for getting rid of this annoying boy in an instant who was bothering his cousin.

"Nice to meet you Arion, my name is Koby, and this is my cousin Liyah" he said pointing at the girl standing next to him." and that guy is our friend Tee."

Tee nodded at Arion.

Liyah didn't even look at Arion, it wasn't like she wasn't grateful. But she was still nervous about the crowd still standing around them.

Seraphina appeared next to Arion while also simultaneously releasing the guards from their holds.

Gerald's bodyguard was about to attack Arion, but he noticed the woman standing next to him, realizing exactly who she was.

"SERAPHINA"

He shouted.

No one else had noticed Seraphina when she and Arion walked in because they were one of the last ones to enter, and they had stayed near the back.

Arion wasn't really known in the Human Domain Seraphina and Thaddeus kept his existence a secret from the world only their close friends knew about him, and the maids and guards on their estate were forced to sign a strict Mana Contract.

They Didn't even have a problem with it because they appreciated the people they worked for and were completely loyal.

Gerald's bodyguard was cursing his ancestors for having to take care of Gerald who drew the ire of Seraphina and what to look like her son, who was just as much of a monster as she was when she was his age.

The bodyguard started kowtowing towards the duo.

" Please forgive the young master for his idiotic actions, I will take him back to his estate and let his father know of his plunder this instant."

"Leave"

With a simple but commanding tone in her voice, Seraphina dismissed the guard.

He quickly grabs the boy feeding him a potion to help him recover and vanishes in front of everyone's eyes.

The crowd began to disperse, murmuring amongst themselves about the dramatic events they had just witnessed.

The only people left in the hall near the entrance were Arion, Seraphina, Koby, Liyah, Tee, and their guards.

Arion turned to Koby and Liyah, offering them a reassuring smile. "Is everything alright?" he asked, concern evident in his voice.

Koby nodded, his expression grateful. "Thanks to you and your mother, everything is under control now," he replied, his tone sincere.

Liyah finally looked up, her eyes meeting Arion's. "Thank you," she said softly, her voice barely audible.

Arion gave her a reassuring pat on the shoulder before turning to Seraphina. "Let's get out of here," he said, gesturing towards the exit.

*whistle*

Tee whistled "he's pretty strong"

The other two nodded their head in agreement.

Arion and Seraphina wandered through the bustling streets of the city, their footsteps echoing against the cobblestone pavement.

The air was alive with the hum of conversation and the tantalizing aroma of street vendors selling exotic foods.

As they strolled along, Arion's eyes sparkled with excitement as he took in the sights and sounds of the city.

It was a stark contrast to the quiet serenity of the Ravenheart estate, and he relished the opportunity to explore this vibrant new environment.

Seraphina walked beside him, her presence calm and reassuring. She kept a watchful eye on her son, guiding him through the bustling crowds with ease.

After a while, they came across a quaint little shop nestled between two larger buildings. The sign above the door read "Arcane Emporium," and a colorful display of magical trinkets adorned the window.

Arion's eyes lit up with excitement as he caught sight of the shop. "Can we go in, Mother?" he asked eagerly, his voice filled with anticipation.

Seraphina smiled indulgently at her son's enthusiasm. "Of course, Arion," she replied, leading the way into the shop.

As they stepped inside, they were greeted by the tinkling of bells and the warm glow of enchanted lanterns. Shelves lined the walls, filled with all manner of magical artifacts and curiosities.

"Welcome to my shop."

They were greeted by a man standing behind the counter.

Arion's eyes darted eagerly from one display to the next, taking in the array of wands, potions, and spellbooks on offer. He felt like a child in a candy store, overwhelmed by the sheer variety of magical delights before him.

Seraphina watched her son with amusement, her lips quirking into a fond smile. She knew how much he loved magic, and she was determined to find him the perfect gift to commemorate his awakening ceremony.

Arion wandered through the aisles of the magic shop, his eyes wide with wonder as he took in the array of enchanted artifacts and mystical paraphernalia that surrounded him. Shelves lined with spellbooks, potion ingredients, and magical trinkets stretched out in every direction, each item seeming to beckon to him with its own unique allure.

His fingers trailed lightly over the spines of ancient tomes, feeling the crackle of magic beneath his touch. He paused to inspect a particularly ornate wand, marveling at the intricate carvings and the faint hum of power that emanated from its core.

As he moved deeper into the shop, he came across a display of sparkling crystals, each one more beautiful than the last. He reached out to touch one, feeling a surge of energy pulse through him as he made contact with the smooth surface.

The air was filled with the faint scent of incense and herbs, mingling with the soft glow of enchanted lanterns that cast a warm light over the room. Arion felt as though he had stepped into another world entirely, a place where magic thrived and anything was possible.

He lost track of time as he wandered through the shop, his senses alive with the sights, sounds, and smells of the magical realm. It was a feeling of pure exhilaration, like he had stumbled upon a hidden treasure trove just waiting to be explored.

Arion was almost completely overwhelmed by all the items, but that excitement he had when he entered the store had almost completely died down.

most of the items in the shop wouldn't help him, and weapon or material he saw he wasn't interested in because he was sure his father had something better, the skill books were almost useless to him because he could make his own but they did give him a few ideas in the future.

After searching the whole store Arion headed to the counter to speak to the man standing behind it.

"Do you have any other items or another room I can look at"

"Yes we do but they are only for premi..."

Before the man could even finish his sentence Seraphina pulled out a golden card flashing it to the man.

The man's eyes widened in surprise as he caught sight of the gleaming golden card, his demeanor immediately shifting from reserved to deferential.

"My apologies, madam," he stammered, bowing deeply. "Of course, please follow me."

He led them to a discreet doorway tucked away in the corner of the shop, gesturing for them to enter. Arion followed eagerly, his curiosity piqued by the promise of hidden treasures awaiting them beyond the threshold.

As they stepped through the doorway, they found themselves in a dimly lit chamber adorned with tapestries and velvet curtains. The air was heavy with the scent of exotic spices and arcane incense, adding to the sense of mystery and allure that permeated the space.

Shelves lined with rare artifacts and mystical relics stretched out before them, each one more tantalizing than the last. Arion's eyes widened in awe as he took in the sight.

Arion ran ahead of them in excitement he had sensed a certain energy in front of them.

Rushing ahead Arion kept running till he was in front of a plain-looking white marble

The man saw Arion's interest in the marble and honestly, he was ready to get rid of it, It had been in his shop for decades and he only put it back here hoping someone was gullible enough to buy it.

As far as he knew, the marble had no use and he couldn't get it to activate. The reason it was still in the shop was because his boss was absolutely certain of its value.

The man had immense respect for his boss and vision, but this decision made him think his boss was a koot.

Arion's eyes sparkled with anticipation as he approached the plain-looking white marble, he could sense an energy coming from the marble and it was Ki!! How could a rock hold Ki in it he was stumped by this realization and wanted to study this thing further.

"This I want this." Arion stated

"Of course, this seems to be your lucky day we are selling this item for only 20 silver"

The man said.

Arion looked at his Mom with anticipation. He didn't have a copper coin to his name and could only rely on her to buy him this treasure.

Seraphina met Arion's gaze with a knowing smile, her eyes reflecting his excitement. Without a word, she reached into her pouch and withdrew a small bag of coins, counting out the required amount before placing it on the counter.

"Thank you," she said to the shopkeeper, her voice warm with gratitude. "This will make an excellent addition to my son's collection."

The man nodded, accepting the payment with a nod of his head. As Seraphina handed the marble to Arion, he felt a surge of gratitude wash over him, his heart filled with a sense of wonder and gratitude.

"Thank you, Mom," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "I promise to make the most of this opportunity."

With a smile, Seraphina placed a hand on Arion's shoulder, her eyes shining with pride.

"Alright let's head to the teleporter to head home, today has been eventful enough."
