"Brandon..."
Grandma called out, and we immediately turned to her.
"When will you return to Wichita?" she asked.
I frowned while walking towards the chair with Victoria following me.
"Maybe tomorrow," I replied.
"I'll go with you," she said.
I swallowed hard, sat down, and looked at Victoria, who looked at me resignedly. Okay, she must be afraid.
"I want to meet my great-grandchild; she looks so beautiful and cheerful... She has your eyes!" Grandma continued, making me feel happy but slightly uneasy. "And I won't take no for an answer!" she added.
"Um..." I slowly nodded awkwardly, occasionally glancing at Victoria. "Of course you can. But... ask Victoria first, because it's her house..."
