Victoria POV
Several days passed after my rejection, and he didn't come back. I didn't know if it was because he had given up and hated me, but honestly, it worried me. I couldn't bear the thought of him marrying Aurora; it would make Sophia sad. But accepting him back was also terrifying.
I always pictured his mother's angry face; she was like a monster to me.
"Mom..."
Sophia's voice interrupted my thoughts, turning to her as she approached me from her room, already looking beautiful and ready for school in her red dress, black jacket, and backpack with a Winnie the Pooh design.
"Mom, why isn't Daddy coming?" she asked sweetly.
"He'll come later, mommy will call him," I replied calmly, pulling her onto my lap.
She pouted, resting her hand on the dining table.
"Now, you go to school... Mommy will pick you up later." I stroked her hair gently, occasionally kissing her head. "After that, we'll go to the playground."
