This was the first time Dominique had called her by her name, but it seemed to have no effect on her emotionless demeanor.
Kalina stood still by the door, her eyes unwavering as they remained fixed on Dominique. Nikolas, sensing the tension, tried to get Dominique's attention through the phone, but it seemed Dominique had completely forgotten about it.
Cautiously, Dominique approached Kalina, attempting to stammer out an explanation for the conversation she had undoubtedly overheard based on her frozen reaction.
"Let me explain, please," he began, but she gave no response. Her calmness was unsettling. Normally, she would have snapped or thrown a fit over much smaller issues, but here she was, eerily composed.
As Dominique neared her, he noticed her eyes were glazed over, and it dawned on him that she must be sleepwalking.
"You gave me quite a scare, Cherry," Dominique said, letting out a sigh of relief.
