Chapter 2 - Ethan

A few minutes have passed since Lucas entered this house. It was quite clean and well-placed. There wasn't much, but it could still easily accommodate a small family quite well. It was clean and comfortable to live in.

He was reading up a few documents and classifying them while sitting at the dinner table, while on the other hand, the Ethan guy was seen lying over the sofa.

'...'

Lucas's face touched Ethan as he finished separating and managing those documents, and a sense of surprise crossed his mind.

'This guy... is definitely not trained; there isn't even S of sports in that body of his; if I have to say, he is kind of a nerdy middle-class type guy, but still... Just what kind of gifted genes he has, even though he is my brother! What sort of thick blood runs in this bloodline...'

Lucas thought that amazed and confused look continued to hunt his face till suddenly the young man suddenly jumped awake with limitless fear in those eyes.

"Aaaah! Uwaaah! You damn scammer! Don't you dare steal my games collection?"

"Shut up!"

Lucas immediately closed his mouth, throwing a pillow he had placed with him straight at Ethan's face with an annoyed expression on his face.

"You! You scammer! You are still here!!! You! Stay down! If you just leave, I won't be calling the cops!"

"Why don't you say that after putting down that phone behind your hand?"

Lucas said that with an exhausted sigh on his face, Ethan's facial expression suddenly went all tight and defensive as he silently took out that phone of his with the cop's number, almost dialling up right on the spot.

"You! So you have been doing this for a long time, huh? To think you woul--"

"Shut up!"

Lucas threw another pillow right in his face, knocking him down on the ground. While slowly standing up from his seat, he arrived in front of him, and while bending down, he passed him all the documents he had collected, along with his ID and passport.

"Nobody is risking his life for the game collection of your smart ass; stop overthinking every shit available on earth; you know to scan QR codes to get access to my government details from ID, right?"

"Of course! Who do you think?"

"Shut it..."

As Ethan was about to explode again, Lucas shut him up with his ID straight on Ethan's face. As he took the seat on the sofa beside the ground, Ethan was knocked over.

"Scan it up then; I'm not some ghost or crap crawling from graves, and definitely not some scammer trying to rob your games; it's me, Lucas Kim."

Lucas's tone seemed a bit frustrated by the way he was speaking, and next, while scratching the back of his head with a bit of awkwardness on his face, he silently muttered

"Your brother"

"As if!!!!"

Ethan immediately shouted back, seeing Lucas's reaction and words, and immediately grabbed his ID to scan the card with his phone. He was in frustration and rage until, finally, on the government website, the full details of Lucas finally revealed themselves on his screen.

"It's real."

"You expected me to lie with a face as handsome as mine?"

Lucas snatched his ID and documents and started placing them back in his files and wallet, while Ethan, on the other hand, was dazed watching the screen of his phone as he kept staring blankly at his own name in the list of his family members.

"..."

"..."

Lucas and Ethan both maintained that silence inside the room for several minutes straight; none said a word as, finally, Lucas finished packing up his things and arrived in front of Ethan, sitting on the ground. He coldly questioned him while looking down on him with shining eyes.

"Which room is empty in this house?"

Ethan maintained the silence, being taken aback by the situation in the cold intent of his brother Lucas, and finally, after a few seconds passed with a few sweats on his face, he finally pointed towards a door besides the stairs.

"That one besides the stairs..."

Lucas nodded and, along with his baggage, arrived in front of that door besides the stairs. As he opened the door, he was greeted with a room filled with all sorts of baggage and things packed up in cardboard. It was basically a bedroom turned into a storage room because of the grace of Ethan here, taking care of the house.

"Tsk!"

Lucas stared at it briefly without blinking and for several minutes watching this hunted house-like scenery in front of him before finally smashing this door closed. As he turned back, Ethan was seen standing on his spot with a smug grin on his face as he shouted.

"So what!? Who cares if you are a relative, brother, or whatever? I haven't seen you for 20 years; you never existed in my life either way! I have no attachment to you either way! I won't stop you from staying here since the house belongs to our parents, but you have to be staying at"

"50 dollars, give or take."

Lucas said that he brought out several big money notes from his pocket with a cold look in his eyes as he stared at Ethan, and as Ethan's eyes saw that money, the expression on his face and tone in his voice both changed in a matter of moments.

"Of course you can live in the best room! According to the teachings of the Elders! Younger brothers should live and die for the sake of older ones! I exist to serve you, Lord! Let me take out all my things from that room!!!"

Ethan suddenly snatched the money like some cat and immediately rushed upstairs, while Lucas here removed that cold look only for it to be replaced with a sense of immense loneliness and hurt initial attachments.

'... This much is expected, but it still hurts like hell. He was 2 years old when his family suddenly vanished from his life. It's more than understandable to have no attachment to anyone; forming bonds again will take some time, but...'

Lucas frowned while tightening that grip on his coat sleeves as the memory of Ethan hugging him at doorsteps crossed his mind, and a cold look crossed his face along with that wrinkling frown upon his nose.

"He shouldn't have hugged if he was only going to throw me away."

Those words escaped his muttering mouth as he sighed and placed his baggage right over there on the ground before falling back on the sofa and opening up the TV in the hall.

'Bonds will take time... After being raised in an orphanage with no friends, no family, and no attachment to the world, I had been dying to get a family... I can't bring my parents back from that accident, but what to do with this fox-like brother of mine?

It's been reported that this time the class of delinquent students from Blossom School and AP High School has resulted in some serious public damage as well as heavy injuries to the students involved in it.

The cops have announced it originated because of violence issues between two groups; the culture of normal school fights turning lethal has just recently started in Korea in the past few years and has turned into a nationwide problem; it's been reported to be because of social media influence.

The reporter on the news channel kept explaining about some incidents of school fights on the news, though there were no faces of these high school students revealed on the news channel. The injuries shown on the screen and the physique they showed

It was nowhere near or even close to what normal high school students look like; these people involved were closer to barbarian fighters than some sane normal human being living in society.

"The fuck is going on in here..."

Lucas himself questioned seeing the news; he seemed familiar with those scars, familiar with such muscles, and really quite familiar with the type of issue that was going on here.

He instinctively straightened his back posture, leaning towards that TV screen like a beast observing his future territory. The eyes were in a frenzy, and the nerves in his muscles were shrinking and increasing like some heartbeat. The atmosphere of the room was cold from his sheer presence, until suddenly the voice of Ethan brightened up the room.

"Bro! I'm done with my things! You can settle into the room on the upper floor! Hehehe! But you still have to get your own groceries and food."

Ethan showed his cold side again at the end of his words; he was clearly not carrying any attachment to Lucas; to him, this guy was just some old-time roommate that left and is now back to live here, with absolutely no feelings.

"I will..."

Lucas's toned-down voice and his eyes and neck quietly took his baggage and let him go upstairs with an annoyed expression on his face, while Ethan's gaze moved over to the TV screen that Lucas was watching.

This school fighting delinquents is a real problem in the world. There are several students who have already started to enter jail, but because of minor protection policies, we can't hold them for more than 9 months, and they return to create the same situations again.

It's been reported from the sources that an organisation called 'Blacktip' has been involved with funding and sponsorship of these delinquents, and the issue has escalated to the level of yakuza culture in Japan.

The 'Blacktip'...)

Ethan's whole body shivered from head to bottom as he heard that name and immediately closed the TV screen, leaving the place almost immediately, but he didn't notice those shining pairs of eyes on the stairs watching everything.

"Blacktip..."
