Chapter 10 - His Help Was Haunting Me.

"Or was it that you were busy dreaming of the night you heroically jumped into the water?"

After he was reminded of something else, Xu Haotian didn't want to miss the chance of making his friend irritated. He added innocently, "After all, the moment is worth keeping in mind for years."

Everyone except for the man in question laughed. Qin Lixin's ears tinged red and held the area between his brows. That was the reason he didn't even want to come.

"Come on, dont tease him like that." Liang Guohua was the first one to stop laughing. "It wasn't his fault that he thought of becoming the knight in shining armour of the girl who didn't need it."

"JUST SHUT UP!!!" Qin Lixin's jaw hardened as he targeted his sharp gaze at them.

"Alright, alright. We will stop now." Yang Feiyu surrendered his hands but the smile on his eyes still didn't leave.

Qin Lixin simply looked blankly at them. The image of the night had already been haunting him for two days.

Which bloody angel had possessed him? He himself had been having a tough time believing that he jumped in the water to help someone.

"Whatever." The hardened sole of expensive-leathered shoes being tapped on the surface in an impatient rhythm depicted the owner's riled mood as Qin Lixin threw a pissed-off mutter before changing the topic. "What were you guys talking about earlier?"

With that said, Xu Haotian pulled out another envelope from his pocket. "Take this and kindly reach on time, your highness."

With a swoosh, an envelope was thrown that was grabbed between thumb and index finger by Qin Lixin. He swirled the envelope as he surveyed it before opening it elegantly.

Watching the way his long fingers gracefully removed the flap of the envelope without bringing even the slightest tear, Liang Guohua couldn't stop himself from commenting. "You are the only one who did not rip it apart."

Qin Lixin didn't bother diverting his eyes from the card and casually replied, "Certain things are meant to follow a certain protocol."

With 'VIP CARD' on top, his eyes quickly scanned the sumptuously created invitation card and stopped at the last line, right above the signature. "Hosted by Xu Haotian, Heir of Xu Enterprises...not bad. Even you have started handling business following Liang Guohua."

"They are elder to us so it is justified that they are stepping in the game first." It was Yang Feiyu who mirthfully winked at Qin Lixin who in turn passed a small smirk.

Xu Haotian rolled his eyes as he heard the same-old thing he had been hearing since childhood. "It's just two months gap."

Liang Guohua, however, leaned back and thoughtfully rubbed his chin. "Because you guys know that you are lucky in this regard, you could continue living freely a little more. However, the responsibility that will befall under you will also be more than us."

Liang Guohua knew that even they were aware of this. And that was the reason, why these both often detested the idea of joining business down the road.

Among them, the art galleries under the Yang Family could solely stand against any major IT company in the country because of the artist whereas Qin Industries was a very large firm, having at least a single subsidiary in all the fields.

Managing both the groups was going to cost equal dedication later on; completely opposite to the patience they have to invest their time into something.

"But I don't think we should worry about it now. As expanded our business is, our families are equally reluctant to pass it down to us any time soon." Qin Lixin was less troubled by the work he would do later in his life. He still had a couple of years for it and the same was the case with Yang Feiyu.

"Anyways, I did not have any other choice and couldn't say no because it was my grandfather who had ordered me to do it. Nevertheless, I don't mind handling matters of Glimmer. It's an entertainment agency and entertainment is fun."

Xu Haotian wasn't going for it and hadn't meant to pierce him with his words but hearing the words 'Glimmer' and 'fun' together, Qin Lixin felt as if the man was taunting him, again.

Feeling an intense force, Xu Haotian moved his eyes through the room till his eyes met the glower and he pointed at himself before he too realised what the matter was.

"Come on, I wasn't referring to the 'fun' and 'Glimmer' keeping that night in mind! Don't hold it against my company, it has got nothing to do with it." He didn't know if he should cry or laugh seeing him petulant. "Poor actress, would she know that somebody is holding something against her?"

"I didn't even say anything about her!"

"But she is the one coming to your mind every time, isn't it?" Xu Haotian countered with a proud smirk. It was so hard to tease the man and now that he had finally gotten something up his sleeves, he wasn't going to let the chance go in vain.

Yang Feiyu smiled meaningfully as he deciphered the frustrated look on Qin Lixin's face and spoke innocently. "I don't think we should blame Qin Lixin when it comes to him getting into the trap. It had to happen. That actress was just that good!"

Liang Guohua nudged the man who just delivered a thesis, "Look at you! Are you taking his side or hers by praising her?"

"Not anyone's but she honestly did a good job in making everyone believe that she was not a character but reality."

The corner of Xu Haotian's eye sparkled as he further probed, "Did you like her? You want me to find her contact?"

Qin Lixin sent an admonitory look as he scoffed, "You haven't even seen her face properly but already fell for her?"

Yang Feiyu rolled his eyes at their assumptions however didn't back away. "Well, technically, I wasn't the one floating with her in the middle of the water so how could I have seen her face? But you did right? Tell me more about her!" In the end, his lips went up roguishly.

Qin Lixin felt his friend's profound gazes displaying great interest fixed on him; waiting for his response as he drew his mind back to that pale face.

A startled face having eyebrows as dark as a freshly grinded ink, eyes as large and innocent as a deer, the most beautiful pair of desirable lips that he came across: gleaming under the dark night when the lights were shining at her face from all the direction as she tightly clutched onto his shoulders...fu**!

The next second, his jaw clenched as he shut his eyes irritably and barked, "I dont remember!! Can we not talk about something else?"
