"It's Lilin"
"That's your name? "
She nods slowly.
Xion: "Well Lilin"
"Normally I would like to say it's nice to meet you, but... "
"I can't help feeling like we aren't exactly starting off on the best foot here, you know? "
Her face remains unreadable.
'She is one tough nut, isn't she? '
Lilin: "By the order of the government, you are to surrender to my custody or face severe punishment. "
When I swallow nervously, the point of her almost pierces my skin.
"Alright, alright! "
I slowly raise my hands.
Xion: "I will whatever you say! Fingerprints, blood samples, whatever you need, it's yours!"
"You should know that I went into the bathroom just before I left the school though, so if you need anything else it might be a little while until—"
"That won't be necessary. "
She eases her sword away.
Lilin: "Your cooperation is noted. "
I breathe a sigh of relief as she steps back, in my disbelief, only for her to wind up as if readying for yet another strike.
"N–No! Wait! "
Time seems to crawl as she starts to swing her sword, giving me time to ponder my fate.
'Well this it it'
'There are many things I never got to experience in my life'
'Having a girlfriend for one'
'Or at least making it to the second stage! '
'I guess there are worse ways to go to the afterlife than being slayed by an attractive girl. '
'At least it will give me something to admire as my end comes. '
The passage of time begins to speed up again as the blade closes in on its final mark.
While I braced myself for the oncoming pain, instinct prompted me to raise my arm in defense.
Just when the strike was about to land, there is a strange shimmering light in the air that separates us.
I glimpse her eyes going wide moments before she is hurled back by an unknown power with incredible force.
It takes all the strength and agility she can muster to remain upright as her feet hit the ground.
'What just happened?! '
I stare at my arms in disbelief. The strange flickering light lingers on my arms for a few moments before quickly dissipating.
Lilin: "I knew it. "
Having now recovered from the failed attack she looks more resolute than before.
Lilin: "We have finally found you.. "
"Your Majesty"
