A desperate plea raged in Valda's mind as she continuously backed away from the ferocious beast, unconsciously securing the book protectively in her arms. The memories of her father's demise clawed at her sanity, and her stormy eyes were glazed with anger, overpowering the fear that threatened to consume every part of her.
Without wasting a second, the boar charged violently, but before it could bring any harm to Valda who had looked away, already awaiting her fate, an invisible forcefield enveloped her form. The boar bounced back after colliding with the protective shield, unable to break through it, and when Valda lifted her head, she was still alive, to her own amazement.
She was practically unaware of what had transpired, but the boar, who had been running towards her, was suddenly many meters apart.
