Chapter 3 - Being a baby sucks

Change of POV

"Don't I get any cheats? Where's my Golden finger" the man asked through his thoughts

However, no matter how much louder his thoughts could get there was no reply. He was alone.

"Is this how you'll work?" he asked, clearly not happy about being abandoned in this new world.

He had no idea where he was or even any hints as to where he was. All he knew was the darkness around him and the box-like container he was inside.

"God, if I had known I wouldn't have accepted" he lamented.

He had no idea what to do at the moment, and even if he did, his body wouldn't let him. He was stuck with nowhere to go.

After a while of cussing out the being who had brought him here, he soon began to feel sleepy as his eyes slowly shut down. Being a baby wasn't helping one bit.

….

"Isn't he cute?" a female voice is heard as a woman could be seen standing over what looked like a crib.

Inside it was a baby, his eyes closed as he slept and all around him were various toys that people had brought. Standing above him though we're several other people, all of whom were busy looking and adoring the baby within.

Just a few metres away from them was a bed and on it was a young woman, surrounding her were two elderly women and behind them was an elderly man.

"Strong women don't cry, you have no reason to cry" one of the elderly women said as she  wiped the tears off the woman's face.

"Why are you even crying? You have the greatest gift God can give a woman and you want to spend it's second day in existence crying?" The second lady said

"Okay that's enough, the two of you aren't helping the situation" the man said as he stepped in

Grabbing hold of the woman, he immediately began to console her only for her cries to become even louder. Both elderly women saw this as their expressions softened.

They could understand why she was crying. However, to them, there was no reason for her to cry when she had a child.

Leaving the man and the woman, they turned to the child as they too joined in adoring the baby. It was a grandson, the first in the family, nothing no matter how tragic would ruin this day for them.

…

"Shit, who turned on the lights?" a thought rang out as two tiny arms were raised high into the air to try and block the light

It was as though someone had brought the sun and put it directly on his face. The place was also incredibly loud for some reason.

"Aww! Look at him" he heard a voice say before suddenly feeling a pair of hands grab him.

As soon as he was lifted up a whole new kind of fear was instilled in him, he was too tiny. His eyes had yet to adjust even after this long so everything was still super blurry and all but he could make out the image of what looked like a human.

He wasn't sure but it's voice sounded feminine, an older generation. Her hands were firm but soft, he was lifted a bit high into the sky before suddenly being taken into her arms.

"Who the hell is this?" He asked, a bit angry.

He couldn't say that he wasn't enjoying the comfortable spot in her arms but it was sort of humiliating. For over thirty years, he had been able to do everything on his own and now, here he was in someone's arms.

Her carrying him wasn't his main problem, it was just what it signified for him. For the next five years, this would be a steady feature in his life, random family members lifting him up just because they wanted to respond to his greeting or any other thing.
