"True," Lorenzo agreed.
As we were having this somewhat melancholic conversation, the soldier returned with someone in tow.
"We've been expecting you. Prince Rain, Lord Lorenzo, His Majesty is calling for you, so please follow me to the throne room," the soldier said.
Lorenzo and I exchanged another awkward look.
"Rain, Lorenzo, lift your heads."
With a chuckle, I lifted my head. It had been a long time since I saw my father's face, and it hadn't changed at all.
"It's been a while, Father. You seem healthy, which is good."
"Yes. Rain, you seem well too," my father replied.
His face didn't look happy at all. But it wasn't like he was displeased either. If I were to compare, it was like the expression he wore when exchanging pleasantries.
It's been a long time since he's seen his son, so it would be nice if there was a little more to it. But this person, he really couldn't care less about me.
