*silence*
The whole place was submerged in silence as if someone casted a great AoE silencing spell. The Elven soldiers, who were frozen on spot gazed at the approaching warships in the air with mixed feelings, from the initial taste of victory to the feeling of fear and despair. Their spirits were taken for a rollercoaster spin at that instant.
'They thought the battle was over...they thought they survived the tumultuous war and successfully defended their home...'
Their blood chilled at the thought that they hadn't even faced the main army of their enemy.
One should know that they barely won the first wave and had lost more than half their entire army even with the combination of the three elf legions.
The appearance of this new enemy not only doused their hope in cold water but they even started shaking visibly under the great dark indomitable aura that emanated from the approaching flying ships.
What's even worse was that the general was attacked immediately...her life or death was unknown.
The ominous figure that seemed to lead this wave of demons, had a pair of black horns jutting from his head with one broken halfway. He smiled sinisterly as he erupted in a flash of flame on the ship only to reappear before the large crater where the battle master was blasted.
"....when I haven't even made a move yet"
he continued his words as he looked at all the elves in general. His blood red eyes kept glowing while his dark aura kept churning and burning the air around him like a natural occurrence.
The strong and well-trained elves all took a few steps back as the mere presence of this person gave the feeling of imminent death, their spine tingling in warning of great danger.
"Hmm..."
Deep inside the 30 meters black crater that was before the imposing demon,a figure could be seen groaning and struggling to get up.
'the elven general was actually still alive!'
The remaining elf warriors saw a charred elf clawing her way out of the crater. A new flame of hope was rekindled in their hearts as they thought it wasn't over...at least their general was still alive and giving her strength, she could probably overturn this situation in their favor just as she always did in the past.
Diane, upon finally getting out of the crater with all her strength struggled to stand on her own without anything to hold on to. Standing right before everyone's eyes...
*Hiss*
Each and every elf, both standing or severely injured took in a sharp breath of air upon seeing the state and appearance that the 'formidable elven general ' was in.
Standing with every ounce of remaining strength she had left, half of her beautiful sharp face was burnt with blood seeping down her eyes and lips, one hand was holding unto the other that lay limply beside her. Her once lustrous armor now lacked any sort of it's former glory.
'this....was this the general?'
At that moment, that was the thought on every elf's mind. She looked like a crippled beggar that was on the verge of collapse.
It seemed as if even the slightest of breeze could topple her over with the littlest of touch.
The brimming hope that was reignited within the remaining elves were snuffed out at this point, they couldn't help but pity the general as they all carried a look of defeat on their once determined face.
"Oh?...you still survived that,I never knew the elves could be tenacious" the flame fiend said in a mocking tone as he assessed the state the elven general was in.
"But....it's a pity, a pity you would only make yourself suffer more excruciating pain before you die" as he said this, his clawed black hands grabbed Diane by the neck who was unable to even put up any resistance.
The audience did try to move in to stop whatever the demon was trying to do to the weak woman but they just couldn't move an inch closer,it was as if their instincts told them to preserve their own lives.
Raising her up with little to no effort, the demon smirked as he suddenly slammed her into the ground with such fast speed that the motion barely registered in the minds of those watching.
*BOOM*
Dust and rocks flew around in result of the impact, even the ground was cracked in a web like shape, but this didn't mean anything to Mjarr as he kept on slamming the battle master.
No matter how scared a rabbit was,if cornered it would definitely bite back ferociously, in this case, one of the watching elves couldn't take it anymore and rushed towards the devil without regards to his life.
This seemed to snap the other elves as they too started following behind the first elf with blood red eyes, they seemed to be in an enraged state and their feelings of fear were suppressed with anger momentarily.
The twenty-thirty elves all rushed in on the demon hoping to overwhelm him with numbers.....but it all turned out to be futile efforts as the demon didn't even acknowledge their existence before snapping his other fingers.
The result?....it was the evaporation of the elves from existence, their bodies shattered like glass into molecular pieces, just like dust particles being blown by wind.
They simply ceased to exist.
"Seems like you all care about her so much? ,then let me give her to you as a heartwarming greetings"
"Ahhhhhhhh"
Diane screamed as she felt a gut wrenching pain in her stomach, thinking that she couldn't feel anymore pain after being smashed a thousand times, this jolted her from her half-dead state.
*Gasps*
Every elf gasped at the brutality displayed, the demon actually plunged his black claws into her stomach, twisting his fist while also releasing fire in her guts before violently pulling out.
"On second thoughts,I think I'll hold onto her for the time being" he laughed as he licked his bloodied fingers in delight, his eyes glowing even more red.
He looked tauntingly at his audience "the taste of you elves is really as delicious as rumored" grinning from ear to ear he suggested
"why don't you call out your empress and her entourage hmm?... perhaps she can make me surrender this one over here and save you all from me" he said raising the unconscious general like a piece of raw meat.
Now she was even more battered than before, looking to barely hang on as her breathing was becoming shallower with each second that passed.
