Chapter 14 - Battle with a perfect opponent

"I have to admit, you're different from all the other elves I've seen" the orc king said as he got into a fighting stance .

He was putting his focus on this particular elf that slaughtered his people easily, she seemed to be the one leading the battle too, so why not just cut the snake at it's head he thought "wouldn't want to mar your beauty,if you choose to surrender now,I'll treat you as one of my own" facing the battle beauty,he could feel power radiating off of her "you might even have a proper posi-"

""What the heck are you spouting, are all orcs such a horny dog? " but instead of convincing the maniac, she sort of got turned off "Tcch!,I was expecting a good fight just now" the battle master spat out coldly, not minding her demeanor.

This angered the king as he was actually offering this elf an easier way out,did she think she has a chance of survival against me?.

With a loud bang,he didn't hesitate to attack her as he dashed towards her closing the distance immediately while throwing his right fist forward.

The speed was commendable,as even the battle master had to bend backwards to the extreme before moving sideways giving her a little space between the fist and her. The attack however wasn't over ,as the king's second fist started heading straight for her.

In her bent position,he was sure she couldn't counter the attack, his second fist going straight for the hit,and it actually struck, but not the battle master herself as she pulled her great sword in-between them, effectively blocking the strong punch while diverting the force elsewhere. For the king,it felt like he struck something that absorbed his strength, like someone striking wool without being able to give off the amount of power it should have in that attack.

Taking the opportunity to give a little distance between them, the battle master sneered inwardly. "What, did you take me for a fellow orc?". Her provocation would have worked on another orc but the king was able to simmer his anger having been impressed by her display.

"Impressive, that was something I never expected" the king said sincerely while also stretching his claw like hands forward, the black armor on his body started giving a little glow as he got in another battle position. "For an elf to be this good in close-combat, you've piqued my interest even more brat!"

The battle master feeling the killing intent rise once again became serious and raised her sword with both hands pointing it at her opponent. "Hmm" she hummed ,no longer paying attention to what he was saying as blue lines also started glowing on her sword, both fighters were giving off palpable tension.

Not allowing the orc king to attack this time, the elf general swung her sword using the flat side in a wide arc generating large blue lines that headed right towards the king who instead of dodging crossed his arms in an x , taking the brunt of the attack

BAM!

What he didn't expect was the strength behind it as he got pushed back a few metres leaving drag marks in his previous position. "How?" The king muttered to himself,in all his years even before he became king. He never heard of an elve having enough physical strength to actually push back an orc in a contest of strength alone,"that sword of yours...it could actually leave a mark on my armor? ".

SHING! SHING! SHING!

Not replying still, she sent more attacks towards the orc as she dove in with speed, the king snapping out of his momentary surprise, dodged the attacks crudely, showing that agility wasn't one of his strong fields. This made Diane reach him faster as she swung her sword, this time aiming precisely at the king's neck. Using both hands though, the king gave his strongest punch yet, punching the underside of the great sword thereby pushing away the sword with great exploding strength while sending his other punch to the elf's exposed belly.

BAM! BAM!

Like a loose kite, the result of the counter made the battle master fly back with force, landing a few meters more than she initially stood at while the sword flew in another direction. "Do you think you are all-powerful just because of your sword?" It was the king's turn to sneer, but instead of rubbing it on the elf,he started radiating more power than before as he began punching the air in front of him

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

The force at which he punched the air was so strong that the air itself took shape of his fists while flying towards his target. Just getting up from the initial counterattack, the elf saw the almost invisible attacks heading towards her, placing both hands on the ground, she raised a small platform of earth using it to leverage herself into the air while twisting, narrowly dodging the phantom like fists before landing further back. This gave her even more distance from the opponent but also from her weapon which was in-between her and the king.

Seeing that his opponent had quite a distance from her weapon, the king wouldn't give her a chance to recover it as it seemed that she depended on it for her to exert her full power.

Getting into a crouching position as if he wanted to jump,he began regulating the little bit of mana he had, pushing it to his legs. The elf seeing this thought of using the opportunity to dash and get her sword but then her instincts warned her against it as less than a second later

BOOM!

The king disappeared from his position leaving behind a rising cloud of dust and dirt. Instantly, the battle master took a defensive position crossing both arms. This decision of her's proved to be beneficial as a second later, the orc king appeared before her and released a flurry of attacks this time even stronger than before as even the air around them started vibrating as each hit landed.

Being on the defensive brought a bitter taste to the elf's mouth as she couldn't counter this rush of attacks.

The king, unrelenting, never paused nor gave a chance for the elf to retreat as he locked her in place, his punches growing heavier with each successful hit,not that the elf had a chance to dodge anyways. He would definitely not give the battle master a chance to retrieve her sword either.

The elves,no matter how strong or skilled they are ,could definitely not reach the level of pure strength the orcs were gifted with, only making up for it in other ways,in this case, the warrior relied on her swordmanship which was impressive only that the king wouldn't allow her to use it again, not on his watch.
