The stars shone in all their glory lighting up the night sky,the cool breeze moved swiftly and steadily along the trees creating the perfect harmony. The couple walked gracefully hand in hand towards the little pond in the beautiful field they placed down their heart shaped lanterns on the surface of the pond and let the cool breeze guide their journey.
Love as we know is immeasurable and to some there are limits and to others it is bound by no end, for the couple it was the latter. The woman looked at her husband and smiled their emotions filled the air, she was happy, he was joyful, it has been three years already and they still felt like newlyweds saying their vows to each other. They celebrated their honeymoon, anniversary and any other special holiday they could get together in this field.
Amidst their beautiful connection came the first cry, "Richard did you hear that?". she asked her husband. "it might have been a bat Leah it's nothing to fret about" her husband replied. He looked at her and told her not to worry that they are the only ones here and it gave her all the more reasons to be scared. It came again this time louder than ever it was recognizable to every mother the cries and it was coming from the far end of the field. Leah began to walk slowly towards the direction of the sound and didn't notice when Richard trailed behind her with one of the lanterns that was laid at the pond, her heart was beating crazily, she recognized the cries she has always heard them for the past two years,she knew what it belonged to and couldn't wait to see the child.
Her thoughts cleared a little and she could finally hear her name leaving the tips of Richard's mouth, she got closer to the end of the field and behind a huge tree she saw what she was looking for crouching down she picked up the little one from the floor and cleaned the dirt off from her face, Leah turned to Richard and smiled "isn't she beautiful". Richard smiled at his wife and looked at the baby and smiled a little, he took the lantern and shone it at the baby's face, the little one squirmed and quieted down at the light that was shone on her face, her hazel eyes complemented her dark skin.
The couple stared at each other thinking about what they should do with her. "we should adopt her". Leah stated "how can you say that honey, we don't even know who she is her family might be looking for her". Richard replied. "I know but look at her honey I can't stand to leave her here she's so small and fragile". Leah looked at the baby lovingly and then smiled at Richard . "We should look around Incase someone related to her left a letter."Richard said. A while later they found a note on the in a nearby bush with words written in a different language. They scanned the note to see if there was anything they could understand and alas at the end of the note they saw it. "Her name is Alissa."
