The fruits fell to the ground and rolled down the little slope,the girl was cautious enough to not roll down the slope while picking the fruits and dropping them into her basket. "Alissa! get down from the tree,the fruits are enough,please"she cried out. Dusk was approaching quickly and they needed to get to the palace before the king finds out his daughter is missing and send out his troops to come looking for her. The said girl jumped down and brushed the dirt of her clothes, she turned to her friend and chuckled "don't worry Irene father won't find out that I left the palace and if he gets suspicious, Alex is there to divert his thoughts" She said reassuringly to her friend. It was tangerine season and this tree produced the sweetest ones ever unlike the ones the maids gave her at the palace, they started their walk back to the castle with Irene complaining about how her skin is covered with dirt and the nice bath she'll have once they got home.
Finally the stopped a few maters away from the castle gate and hid behind a bush. Irene moved back a little when Alissa closed her eyes and said some words she didn't understand,she was still getting used to the way a door magically appears out of nowhere. Alissa opened her her eyes and turned to Irene signaling her to come with her and passed through the door which on the other side led straight to the princess's room. "Please don't ever make me go through that door again,it gives an eerie feeling anytime we pass through it."Irene said while placing the fruit basket on Alissa's dresser,She was the only one who knew about her friends' secret. "Would you like to follow me to see father?, I know he knows i wasn't in the palace" She asked. "Sure I would love to just to see the king and watch you whine like a little child before the king, it's strange how you act all high and mighty before everyone and then turn into a crybaby in front of your father" Irene sneered.
The two girls walked passed the training room and were getting close to the main courtyard that led to the kings' throne room when suddenly some thing flew past at incredible speed and landed a few feet from them. The pale shock between was evident,they stared down at the ground towards where the object that nearly killed them "an arrow". Taking a closer look at it,Alissa bent down and picked up the object observing it closely she looked at the vanes of the thin shaft and saw three red feathers.
"My lady are you hurt?, Secure the perimeter and find whoever shot that arrow! report the matter to the king" The chief guard said.
