Chapter 13 - Novice Village Part 3

Upon arrival at the guild, Draven ran up to the terminal at the front desk.

Beep! Scanning terminal initiated.

Scan complete User may proceed in using the terminal.

Draven placed his hand on the display of the terminal. The menu reminded Draven of the home screen of an ATM it had 2 options insert an ID card here and create an ID card. Draven clicked on Create ID card. The text on the terminal changed to "Please press hand onto the terminal." Draven did as he was told and a few moments later an ID card stating his name, rank, and his total amount of money. Draven then inserted the ID card back into the terminal. It now displayed 4 tabs Class, Vendor, Quests, and Info. Draven clicked on Class.

Beep! The user is advised to download all class information so that a unique class better suited to the User can be constructed. Does the User wish to download class files?

Draven agreed and a downloading screen appeared in front of him and after 5 minutes he was only at 10%. Draven turned to his father. "This is going to take a while," Draven said. "Having a hard time choosing?" James asked while rubbing his chin. "It took me quite a while as well before I decided on berserker, that class can be used to enhance any weapon including my claws." Draven nodded that doesn't sound like a bad choice but no I need to wait for the "System" to finish Draven said making quotation marks with his fingers. James understood what he meant and didn't pry further. Almost an hour later the system finally finished and displayed the class options to Draven.

Please choose among the optimized classes.

No requirements Classes:

- Battlemage

- Assassin Charmer

- Lightning Berserker

Requirement Classes:

- Magus of Shadow and War

- Bloodline Master

- Mystic Dragon of the Hunt

"System why do some classes have requirements and others don't? Draven asked.

Beep! Classes without requirements can be selected now they are slightly weaker compared to classes with requirements as they only consider the advantages of two species. Classes that have a requirement that the user must fulfill before the class can be obtained. The requirements may vary but the User will receive a class that utilizes the advantages of all three species.

Draven didn't even bother to look into the description of the classes without requirements this was a no-brainer as he dived into the classes with requirements.

The Magus of Shadow and War is the culmination of magic, assassination, and war. This class focuses on death and destruction, The User will receive unique skills as well as Shadow magic that will aid on this path of carnage. Be it in the open or the shadows, death will follow in your wake. The Magus of Shadow and War is known for its incredibly high combat power and deadly techniques.

The Bloodline Master will enhance the Bloodlines the User already possesses giving access to Skills the user may not have unlocked naturally. Furthermore, the user will be able to obtain new skills from related bloodlines. As the bloodline master any inferior being related to your bloodline will not be able to oppose you directly nor will that being be able to refuse an order given directly.

The Mystic Dragon of the Hunt will allow the User to enhance his draconic senses greatly to be able to find any prey. The User will receive unique skills relating to information gathering, tracking, and killing prey. The User will learn unique spells related to Hunting. The Mystic Dragon of the Hunt is considered to be the greatest Hunter that no being can escape from.

Draven carefully read through the descriptions and started listing the pros and cons. The Magus of Shadow and War seems to be fairly balanced between magic stealth and strength. As the system went out of its way to describe how powerful it was he felt he couldn't go wrong with this choice and the shadow aspect would surely give him a lot of utility to deal with things quietly or give him escape routes.

The cons would be shadow magic in general wouldn't Draven be able to learn shadow magic in the future even without this class?

He asked the system for an explanation.

Draven crossed his arms with a frown on his face it seemed magic was not going to come so easily to him as he initially thought perhaps it was only going so well because basic elemental magic was easy to learn and master. Once he reaches more complex magic his progress in learning will greatly slow down.

Draven looked at the next class. The Bloodline Master seemed pretty straightforward he would have everything he currently has but would probably get more of the same benefits he was already receiving, plus some newer skills that were closely related. This was a huge plus as adding another multiplier to his stats that were already being multiplied would be incredible and who knows what the other racial talents he might otherwise not receive would do. The biggest downside was the whole enslavement thing of people who share an inferior version of his bloodline.

This seemed rather dark and Draven didn't know how to feel about it. The Snake guy from before would probably fall in line with that skill meaning he could order him to kill himself and he would probably have to do it. Draven didn't like the idea of being able to control people like that what kind of person would he become if he got used to being in control of so many people all the time? The thought kind of scared him as he was sure that once he used that ability he wouldn't be able to refrain from doing it over and over again why negotiate with someone if he can just order them to do what he wants? It was a con out of morality but not from a strength point of view, in that sense it was incredibly strong.

The last class was Mystic Dragon of the Hunt. Draven initially didn't think this was that strong his senses are enhanced but everything is focused on hunting. He might be able to use this to level up quickly and make a lot of money as he would be an efficient hunter not having to look long for his next target but would that be the best in the long run? But then Draven remembered that last line from the system "The Mystic Dragon of the Hunt is considered to be the greatest Hunter that no being can escape from." No being can escape so would that mean anything Draven wanted to kill be it a monster or person Draven would have the advantage of being able to find and kill them as any being could be his prey. Even after rethinking this class Draven still came to the conclusion that the other classes would have more powerful skills and benefits that would give him more destructive abilities as well as good utility.

In the end, Draven couldn't choose between the magus of shadow and war and Bloodline master. So he did what he always did when he needed a second opinion and he asked his dad. After Draven explained the classes he was thinking about, James needed to take a moment to first get over his jealousy that Draven was getting way better options than he had and then another moment to give the decision some serious thought. "They both sound very strong but in different ways, you are as strong as you are now because of your racial skills so getting a higher multiplier would make you exponentially that much stronger. The Magus of Shadow and War promises you great power and utility which may save your life one day. The system even declared it to be incredibly strong but it didn't mention that with Bloodline Master.

My biggest issue is like you said other beings of lesser bloodlines relating to you will be your slaves. Even I might be affected by that, even though you said we both are ancient dragons you are stronger than me and a higher level so that could affect me as well. Even if it doesn't affect me do you want that? imagine a rock star who is super rich and famous nearly all of them have no idea if the people around them like them for who they are or if they are just around because he is rich and famous.

Your ability would make that even worse because there would be no point in even asking that question you would already know that they are doing those things because they have to. I won't judge you no matter what you choose but think about how that could affect your life and the people around you." His Dad had a point as soon as he mentioned the skill could affect his father Draven realized that was a high possibility of being true and that alone was enough for Draven to decide against that class he didn't want his father to act like that towards him. Not to mention he didn't need that ability for people to listen to him so long he was the strongest he would make the rules if people didn't like it they could leave. "System I choose the Magus of Shadow and War."
