I was a Nobody who grew up in the city orphanage along with other homeless and Parent-less children like myself.
My life can be described by a few words, "Tragic, Grey & Devoid of Happiness."
I, just like others, do not remember anything before the age of five and I'm very grateful for it.
Hence, the life that I knew started on my 5th birthday, when I got a storybook as a gift from a kind uncle whom I did not know anything about.
At that time, I was different from other children. In the orphanage, there are children ranging from 1 to 16 years old and I was isolated by them for who knows why.
As a naïve kid, I tried to gather their attention yet failed miserably. Instead of the expected attention or warmth I was finding, All I got was a thorough beating from a group of rascals.
They shoved the hard truth right on my face!
Leaving with nothing to do, I learned the Art of reading through the orphanage's only teacher who found my talent in studies and marked me as his favorite pupil.
Between this frame, the number of bullies increased as many others joined to beat me everyday after my old teacher's class, beating me black and blue and leaving me only on dinner time with an aching body. Sometimes, I tried to complain to the elders at the orphanage only to be met with a severe beating from them, As usual I had no clue about it.
Despite that It took me only a year to read that storybook with my daily improving comprehension and that I did.Â
That tattered book with no title attached to it, contained a story about a Shiny-haired kid who lived a life hated by the world only on the support of his hope... A hope to be loved by others!
Due to his false dream, he was ridiculed and bullied by kids and adults alike. Yet, he accepted their beatings with open arms. He always smiled for he has yet to lose his determination.
Days by days went by yet those low-lives didn't stop their assault on the little kid. Even then, he never hated them back...
His beliefs weren't shattered by the actions of others!
However, On a certain day of his life, the only person who was kind to him, a kind uncle who helped him sometimes was killed by someone...
And, it was the last sentence written in that book.
At first, I laughed at the boy for his ridiculous dream. Yet, as the days went by, I felt connected with him. I- no we were alike!
The craving to know more about him propelled me forward to act like him with a smile on my face, never hating others and accepting all of their hate.
On the other hand, I was wishing for my suffering to stop with this.
Sadly, It wasn't the case in the least.
Reality was far crueler than I thought it to be! The beating I received daily increased further.
I knew, That boy with shiny hair has an unbreakable will! But, I do not. I should had been long broken after the suffering, Sadly, the dummy inside me motivated me carry on the faint hope of freedom from this torture. And, for that to happen, I studied as the teacher had guided all the orphans, got highest marks and was beaten down for it by some petty kids who didn't like that I was better than them. Adding the amount of bullies.
Till that time, I had learned my lesson, So I smiled after the beating and silently treated my wounds.
Next day,
No one came to bully me and I thought that they left me, I won!
If only that was true...
The bullies came, and that too in-front of the adults! That was the most brutual torture I had recieved.Â
Be it the elders or children all saw them torturing me, yet no one came to my rescue. Some of them even joined the fun!
This was supposed to be the most depressing moment of my life as I hadn't even done anything wrong or bad to suffer!
So why me!!
It was supposed to be stopped! Why was I beaten down till the kingdom came for nothing!
Going through this torture, I had thought of ending my life, but, I hadn't lost yet.
And, even if I did, nothing would have changed anyway as it was my fate...
For the next eleven years, I went through hell.
Gradually, I resigned to my fate.
Everyday, I prayed to Tri-devs and their wives to free me from this hell or grant these mad people some wisdom.
The only person who helped me, My old teacher, had long since died in a car accident.
After he died, I hid beside a tree at the back of the orphanage, where I studied the books provided by the old teacher.
I was living with a haunting past, a hellish present, and a frightening future. Still, I didn't stop smiling . I, too, had the hope of freedom.Â
When I turned 17, I escaped that place and started working in a Pizza shop as a part-time worker, far away from the shadows of my hell.
With my income I took an open schooling higher secondary examination and prepared for two years for the Joint Engineering Exams to enter into a college that I wanted.
With the amount of my hard work I had put in my studies, I got ranked in the top 1000's in the whole country!
Finally! My life was going through a good change when that happened! My life was on the right track.
I was happy beyond belief!
But, The world didn't like my happiness.
Since, from who knows where, The only Son of the Governor of our city came to know that I can enter the college that he wanted as it only has 1000 reserved seats and he ranked 1001! For real!
So, for his own greed, he kidnapped me on my way back to my apartment and brought me to a secluded place.
With my hands and legs tied tightly, he shouted at me, "You poor pest, don't you dare apply for the college at the capital!"Â
He told me to forfeit my right to attend college!
I said, "Okay!^^"
Something that I did with a wide smile on my face as I really didn't want to trade my life for a chance to study at some specific college.
Hearing my answer he laughed and said, "Hehe! I don't believe you." All the while sitting on the bonnet of his car.
That day, Yama wanted to take me back to the netherworld!
"No, I am no-!!!"
Swiss!
Swiss!
Before I had explained myself, I was shot twice through my head, leaving a squashed head in this world.
My condition was just like the warrior in Vijay Samhita who too was unable to fight against his Niyati(Destiny). How nostalgic it is!Â
"May the Goddess of wisdom, Sarswati, grant you some wisdom..."
With these last words, I left the world thinking about the warrior in Vijay Samhita, My life and that shiny haired boy.
In my last moments, I found the choices that the shiny haired boy would have chosen...
It was not to escape from his problems but to face them head-on!Â
