[A/N: Hey there guys! Quick update - Zero's move 'Shadow Spread' has been renamed to 'Shadow Stitch'. I believe I've updated any previous mentions of it in prior chapters, but let me know if I missed anything!]
It wasn't long after that Zero and Kai encountered another player - thankfully it wasn't one of the Viper stragglers. And this one was also alone. The player was a boy a little taller than Zero that seemed to have no interest in fighting, which was obvious as he ran from them the moment they stumbled upon him.
Kai leapt off of Grimm as they closed in on him, "Okay, I'll-"
"I got it!" Zero jumped out in front of him from the back of the lynx and hit the ground running.
Kai skidded to a stop. "Huh?"
Zero moved quickly and closed the distance between him and the fleeing player.
"Get away from me! Please!!" The player begged. He turned around and went to chuck a round-like object at the approaching Zero.
