The next few days went by quickly. With no clear way of how to get Gwyn inside the master forge close enough to freeze them over, they had no choice but to continue Zero's training.
Which was going great. Sort of.
Zero found out that he wasn't the most graceful person with swordplay - but he was fast. So Gwyn created him a different ice sword that was more of a short blade with a thinner blade for less weight. Then suddenly their sparring matches become less about Zero's terrible form and more of a competition.
"Eeeyah!" Gwyn slashed at Zero's legs. She was getting tired of him evading her attacks, and the legs were a much easier target for her. Zero leapt over the strike and somersaulted over her to take her rear.
Zero lunged a piercing blow at her from behind, but she reached her blade behind her to deflect it before even fully turning around.
