Seeing the lives gradually ebb away from three valiant warriors, Darius signaled the support units that were standby on the perimeter to bring them inside the fortress. Not even a minute later, a dozen men emerged from their fox holes and trotted toward him.
"Chief…" Fredrik and his men were agape as they saw the wounds on their bodies. Even the best healers in the capital won't be able to heal them. It was a miracle that they could fight till the very end.
"I know." Darius' eyes were still as calm as a mountain lake. "It's their choice, and I can't possibly tell them no. Bring them to Mathilda, I think she knows what to do."
Fredrik nodded to his apprentice, Anderson and then they paraded the wounded Einherjars as if they were heroes back to the village.
Meanwhile…
The fat ugly bastard, Baron Roger Von Gill, was dumbfounded by the time he realized that his army was completely obliterated by illiterate peasants! However, Roger didn't dare to make the first move as the powerful Mana Field soared high in the sky, coming from the village's direction.
"Who is that Rank 3 Mage?! Also, why do I feel so many malicious presence around me right now?"
Darius stood tall before the Baron, he stabbed his sword before him, using it to hold his hands together. He was by the Rank 2 Mage's Mana Field.
"Roger, I presume?" Darius said in nonchalance.
"People usually address me with my full title, Baron Roger Von Gill! But it doesn't matter. You see, I am a magnanimous person, all I wanted is the Flame Heart that is carried by that Roseflame girl. Give her to me, and my fief will have no quarrel with you."
"What if I refuse?" Said the white haired young man.
Roger's nostrils flared up, discharging a huge amount of mana. "Hmph! Listen, Darius, I know who you truly are. I have a bit of information about your lineage as well as how to reclaim your rightful throne! But first, give me that Roseflame's chick, I need her to breakthrough my bottleneck, and together, we will change the course of history in the Slonia Empire!"
Roger's speech was laced with Vox Elemental Magic, it's even more poisonous than any venom since Vox Elemental could affect the target's mind by manipulating their senses and potentially making the target unable to return to their original state.
Roger believed that Darius was still a dud, a manaless human, a mere mortal that he could play with to his heart's content. In his thoughts, Darius wouldn't be able to resist the Vox Elemental Magic.
Unbeknownst to Roger, Darius had already deciphered how to counter this cumbersome magic by increasing the density of his Mana Field around his ears to cancel any incoming voice. Even though this method would render his hearing useless, his eyes were enough to read the situation.
Darius made himself as if affected by Roger's Vox Elemental Magic to fool the Baron.
"Hehe, that's right. Good boy. Come closer. I will reward you handsomely if you tell me where's that Roseflame's little bitch." Roger smiled in glee as Darius trudged closer toward him like a mindless thrall.
As Darius was thinking, Roger started to squish Darius's face with his oily hands as if it was a toy. The move was so natural that it seemed like Roger has done it thousands of times.
Roger was, in fact, had a wicked tendency to seek pleasure from both genders. If it's a woman, he would enslave her, locking her in his harem chamber for free use every time he needs to relieve his little wee wee. If it's a man, Roger would torture him to near death.
He was elated as a wild thought flashed in his mind. "My boy, how about you come with me as my pet Darius? If you do–"
"Get your hands off me!" Darius exclaimed in fury.
Slash!
As the Baron was enjoying himself in his wild imagination of making Darius as his obedient pet, one of his hands was flying high above his head.
He quickly stepped back as the white haired young man leisurely walked closer to him with a longsword brandished in his left hand, making his lumps of fat jiggles in his whole body.
'What the–! It's impossible! He's a Rank 1 Mage?! This little piece of land should have been barren and devoid of any mana, yet how can a dud like him become a mage!"
"Pray tell, Roger, how do you want to die?" Said Darius, his sword was just an inch from Roger's throat.
"How– How dare you!" Roger whined as he cast healing magic on his decapitated hand. "You all are dead! House of Von Gill will not let you get away with this! My Grandfather will descend from his mage tower and lay waste upon this land!"
Pow!
"Shut your mouth, faggot!" Darius sent Roger's mouth flying to the said with a powerful spinning kick.
The attack was so fast, the Baron, a Rank 2 Mage, couldn't even react in time and flung away for a few dozen feet! His fat face was now multiple times bigger and pompous than before after receiving Darius' mighty kick.
Roger was indeed a Rank 2 Mage, however, just like any mage, they all are physically as weak as mortal. Without their magic, they're all just useless men with a twig in their hands.
"You bastard!" Darius stabs Roger's right shoulder, pinning his fat body onto the ground by the time Roger had landed on his back.
Argghh!
"How dare you lay your filthy hand on my face! How dare you send those wretched pirates and kill my villagers! How dare you attack my village to court my woman and think that you can satisfy your tiny cock?! Hmph! You son of a bitch!"
"Argh! Wait! You can't kill me! I am the Baron of Alesund! If you kill me, you will not only offend the House of Von Gill! The King's Royal Army will descend from the God's Valley. His Majesty will find out that you're the last Lunarian!"
Slap! Slap! Slap!
Notwithstanding Roger's warning, Darius taught the pompous Baron a valuable lesson to never mess with a Lunarian.
"Hmph! You ain't even worth killing." Darius huffed in disdain. With one last punch right into Roger's nose, the latter was knocked out cold.
Seeing the enemy's leader was being dragged by Darius like a dead pig, the villagers who were nestled in battlements roared victoriously with bows above their heads. Old Fang howled beautifully to celebrate the win.
Darius, however, his heart was devoid of any emotion, except one thing; revenge. He knew for the best what kind of hell that would knock on his front door if he ought to kill this pompous Baron. So, he opted to keep the Baron alive until he mastered Vox Elemental Magic and made him into his puppet.
Though he knew that it would not last forever, at least, by making Roger as his puppet, he would have some time to grow stronger until the House of Von Gill found out what had happened to their useless Young Master.
Mathilda frowned as she noticed the dark Mana Field that faintly appeared around Darius' body. She jumped off the Village Hall's roof and walked on his side.
"What are you going to do with him?" asked the black witch.
"Stripping out every last bit of information from his dumb head." Darius replied coldly.
