Chapter 18: The perfect Timing

He leaned in close to her, his voice low and ominous. "I have my ways," he said, a sly smile playing on his lips.

Aubrey stared at him, unable to look away. "How did you get this?" she asked, her voice full of disbelief. "This is… this is perfect blackmail material. How could you do this to them?"

"Did you forget that Kiara is my ex?" he asked, a smug smile on his face. "This shouldn't come as a surprise to you that I have her s$x clip" he replies, proud of his actions.

"Wow, this is a stroke of genius," Aubrey said, a malicious grin spreading across her face. "I won't have to do much to ruin them now. This clip will do all the work."

She handed the phone back to the man, her smile fading as she added, "She's not even any good at… that. All she does is scream like a goat."

The man laughed, a harsh, cruel sound. "You're right, she's pretty pathetic. But that's not really the point, is it?" he asked, his eyes cold and calculating.

She suddenly realized she didn't even know his name. "Can I ask you something?" she said, her voice timid. "What's your name? I'd like to know the name of my… partner in crime."

"My name is Lucky Clement," he replied, looking at her with a sly smile. "And together, we'll bring down Kiara and Enzo."

Aubrey nodded, trying to hide her unease. Something about this man made her feel uncomfortable, but she wasn't sure what it was. Maybe it was just her nerves.

"I'm curious," he said, his voice serious. "What were your original plans for bringing down Enzo and Kiara before you met me?"

Aubrey hesitated for a moment, then spoke. "I wanted to drive Kiara mad," she said, her voice cold and hard. "I wanted to see her roaming the streets of Dreewbrook like a madwoman. That would have given me so much joy, because she's the worst person I've ever met. She took away my happiness, and I wanted to get it back."

Her hands were clenched into fists.

"Calm down, baby girl," Lucky said, patting her shoulder gently. "Don't focus on the pain of the past. Focus on the future, on getting your revenge."

"I know," she said, trying to control her temper. "But it's so hard to let go of all the anger and hurt I feel. Sometimes I just want to punch her in the face."

He smiled, a gentle, reassuring smile.

"Like I said, you have to let go of the past if we're going to succeed in this plan," he said, his tone firm but gentle. "We can't let our emotions get in the way. I know it's hard, but we have to stay focused."

Aubrey nodded, her face softening. "You're right," she said, exhaling a deep breath. "I can do this."

"I know you can," he said, smiling. "And now that you're calmer, I can tell you the next step in our plan.

"You're still going to have to make Kiara go mad," he said, watching Aubrey's eyebrows raise in surprise.

"Don't be surprised," he said. "Kiara is a smart woman, and with her by his side, Enzo will be harder to get to. We need to separate them, and the best way to do that is to make her go mad."

Aubrey nodded, understanding his logic. "So when do we make our move?" she asked, her eyes fixed on him, eager for his answer.

"We'll wait until they're discharged from the hospital," he said, a sly smile playing on his lips. "And then we'll give them some time to get comfortable.

"I have a bit of bad news," he said, his voice solemn. "They already have a baby together, but the baby was born prematurely and is currently in the incubator."

Aubrey's mouth fell open in shock. She hadn't known that. "How… how do you know all of this?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly.

"I have my sources," he replied cryptically. "What's important now is that we use this information to our advantage. We need to make Kiara so angry that she lashes out at Enzo."

He gave her a proud smile. "You're probably wondering how I found out about their child. I have a few friends who work as nurses at the hospital where the baby is. They're able to get me information about the child and the parents. For now, we just need to wait for the right moment to strike."

Aubrey nodded, understanding his logic.

.........................

"You made me do this, even though I had surgery just a few days ago," Kiara said to Enzo, a smile playing across her lips.

She couldn't believe she had done something so foolish, but she couldn't deny that it had felt good. She had enjoyed every moment of it, and that was what really mattered in the end.

"Don't tell me you didn't enjoy that?" Enzo asked, his voice low and seductive.

She blushed, her cheeks turning a deep shade of crimson. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest, and she was sure he could see it too.

"Who said I enjoyed it?" she asked, trying to sound confident. "You're the one who enjoyed it." She knew it was a weak retort, but it was the best she could come up with.

He laughed, a low, seductive laugh that made her shiver.

"Really? Your body was vibrating and begging for more the moment I touched you, and you're trying to blame me for it?" Enzo's voice was laced with amusement.

Kiara couldn't help but smile at his response. "Thank goodness you said my body reacted and not me," she said, feigning relief. "I was worried I might have to take responsibility for my own actions."

"And who controls the body?" Enzo said with a smirk. "If your body reacted, couldn't you stop it?"

Kiara laughed, unable to come up with a response. She knew he was right – it was her body that had reacted, and she was the one who had allowed it to happen. "Okay, you win," she conceded, raising her hands in surrender. "I can't argue with you anymore."

"I can't wait to go home and hold my baby," Kiara said, a hint of longing in her voice. "I'm so tired of this place and everything about it."

She sighed, looking around the room with a bored expression. "I'm tired of waking up every morning to see the same nurses. And I hate the smell of this place – it makes me feel nauseous."

She put her head in her hands, feeling overwhelmed by her situation.

Enzo moved closer to Kiara, placing a hand on her shoulder in a gesture of comfort. "Don't worry, we'll be out of here soon," he said, trying to reassure her. "We've only got three weeks left, and you know how time flies."

He watched as her worried expression faded, replaced by a smile. He felt a rush of pride at the sight of her happiness. He smiled back at her, glad to have lifted her spirits.
