"Congratulations!" I exclaim, my words filled with genuine sincerity.
He moves closer to me, filling me with a tight embrace. "I made it, Drew!" My heart races with surprise, and without even realizing it, my hand instinctively finds its place on his waist.
As Andrew pulls back, another man approaches to offer his congratulations. My hand lingers in the air for a moment, suspended in uncertainty. I quickly lower it, scanning the surroundings to ensure that no one has noticed. What am I doing? What am I expecting? I remind myself that his embrace was simply a result of his joyous victory, nothing more. I shouldn't read too much into it. Yet, deep within my heart, a foolish smile begins to form, unable to contain the happiness that stirs within me.
While Andrew was busy celebrating his victory, Greg approached me with a warm smile. "Let's have coffee," he suggested.
