"That's brilliant. Very smartly put, Luxane," Professor Avoi commended, seeming quite pleased with my answer. "Please have your seat. Thank you."
I sat back down and relaxed in my chair. Not long afterwards, I heard Otis' voice whispering into my ears, playfully making a restful comment.
"So you are a smart ass too, huh," he joked as he lightly patted my shoulder from behind. "That's good to know, man."
I glanced at Otis from the corner of my eyes and we both had low, momentary laughs at his comment.
Professor Avoi pointed his finger toward me, directing the attention of the entire classroom to where I was sitting.
"Oops, looks like you're the centre of attraction now," Otis chipped in again before reclining backwards and away from me, leaving me alone in such an awkward spotlight.
