They were two factions of trainees formed as we walked behind Mister Halberd Smith.
On one hand were those who willingly wanted to follow him because they didn't have a weapon yet and wanted to.
On the other hand were people like Otis who already had a weapon and had no interest in choosing another, as well as those who didn't have one but still had no interest in wielding one.
This second batch of trainees held a meaningless grudge toward the Weapon Master.
Why, you ask?
It was simply because they would have been whiling away time in the classroom, possibly doing something that was more fun for them than coming to spectate their classmates selecting weapons.
Nonetheless, they didn't know any better than the tutor at all.
If only they knew what Mister Halberd had in mind, then they wouldn't be so repulsive to the idea.
