"Is it dark or bright, eh?" wondered Jake.
"Just go Jake" said James while carrying Jake's bag.
They would go past several people while greeting them on the way downstairs. Upon arriving on the ground floor. They hear a lot of people talking indicating the busy community and activities beneath them. And then Jake saw a bit of light from the outside "Ahh, it's morning".
"No shit" said smiling James while handing the bag to Jake.
Jake grab the bag and would go own his way to his class.
"TAKE MORE SNACKS" shout James. Jake put his thumbs up and fade into the crowd.
Immediately, James run upstairs to the shop he worked at. "Why does it feel a bit far today" thought James. Although the shop was only five section away..., wait it was indeed far.
"NOODLE UNCLE CHOW". He arrived and immediately talk to the boss about today's work.
"JAMES-AHH, TODAY YOU MUST GO OUTSIDE, BE CAREFUL AHH" shout Uncle Chow.
James worked as a delivery guy for Uncle Chow since 3 years ago and remain his only worker since then. "ALRIGHT UNCLE" shouts James back.
"Be careful James" said Uncle Wang. "You really work hard eh, James" said Uncle Tang.
"Don't worry Uncle, I know my way" assured James. He carry the noodle metal bag and goes downstair for the second time of the day. Still, a busy crowd along the passage. He was blinded by the light while stepping outside. "damn"
Then, he read the customer address in the bag and he was shocked , it was 9 kilometers away from this city! He looks back to the 'city' and sighed. "Why would anyone called this a city?" though James. It was a building that had been stacked and packed so much until sunlight can't even get through the passage on every floor. It look gloomy, molded, old undesirable and overall, shit. He can't complained though. He got a roof to sleep and got snacks to eat, i guess?
While on the way to the customer, he see a police car and immediately hide behind a wall. He can't be caught because... , he doesn't even know why he can't be caught. With no other choice, he use small passage around the neighborhood and buildings to eventually reach the destination. Then he knock the door and said "Delivery for Uncle Chow Noodle!". A woman opened the door and give money to James, with a skinny body, pale face dark circle with an unstable face, raise James' suspicion every time he made delivery but never questioned it. She slammed the door without uttering a word. "Damn, at least said thank you".
After four more deliveries was made and the similar reaction from all the customers, he made his way back using different way because why not eh? He explored a bit the world outside "the city". He then stumbled upon a street where a group of people were just sitting around and then proceed to walk through the street. He noticed that the people here was the same as his customer look pale and skinny and he also though it was also the same as the people around his house or rather his room back at the city, they look like they need something to sooth them.
Suddenly he feels pain at the back of his head and all things turn black.
