Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: dream or reality

Raindrops pattered against the pavement as Yihwa gazed up at Pete with concern etched on her face. "It's raining, why don't you wait?" she asked, her voice soft and gentle.

Pete smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "No, don't worry. I think the rain is not going to stop now, and Wayy is waiting for me at the pub."

As he helped Yihwa remove her helmet, she grasped his wrist, her touch sending shivers down his spine. "But if you go out in the rain, you might catch a cold. Don't worry, you can crash at my place for tonight."

Pete's eyes locked onto hers, and for a moment, they just stared at each other, the rain swirling around them like a misty veil.

Later that night, Pete's dreams were haunted by a mysterious figure - an old man with silver hair and a blue merman tail. The old man's dress was a dazzling white and blue, matching the deep blue ocean.

"King Pete... King Pete... King Pete... follow me," the old man whispered, his voice like the gentle lapping of waves.

Pete's heart pounded in his chest as he followed the old man through the ocean's depths. "Who are you? And how did I get here?" he demanded, his voice shaking with a mix of fear and confusion.

The old man's face was shrouded in shadows, but his eyes gleamed with an otherworldly light. "You are supposed to know me more than anyone. Your heart knows me, but your brain forgot me."

Pete's mind reeled as the old man vanished, leaving him with more questions than answers.

The next morning, Pete woke up to the sound of Yihwa's frantic voice. "Pete... Pete... Pete... wake up!"

He sat up, panting, his heart still racing from the vivid dream. "I just had a bad dream," he muttered, trying to shake off the lingering fear.

But as he took a bath, he noticed a strange symbol on his wrist - a fish with a trident. It was the same symbol the old man had worn.

Pete's mind whirled with questions. Was this dream or reality?

He confided in his friend Wayy, showing him the symbol. Wayy's expression was grim. "Have you ever had this kind of dream before?"

Pete shook his head. "No."

Wayy's eyes narrowed. "Don't worry, there's a monk I know. Maybe he can help us understand what's going on."

The monk's words were laced with an air of mystery. "Do you believe in reincarnation or past life?" he asked Pete.

Pete's response was immediate. "No."

The monk's eyes gleamed with a knowing light. "This symbol, only water demon royal family members have it."

Pete's mind reeled as the monk continued, "You are destined to meet her, but not to be together. Try to change this fate."

Pete's heart pounded in his chest. "Who is she? And why will she protect me?"

The monk's smile was enigmatic. "She is your destiny, the reason for your revenge, for what happened in the past and for what will happen in the future."
