Synopsis

Stats & Classes Explained

Stats in this story will work in a similar vein to Fire Emblen, albeit with some changes. Classes are still a thing and will influence growths though that becomes one of the main influences. Classes will have stat requirements or sometimes special requirements. For example in order to become a dancer one must have exceptional skill with dancing beforehand. A key influence to growths is the Potential for each Stat. Potential is influenced by the bloodline and training. Every five points of potential a person has for a stat will result in an extra point for that stat upon leveling up. Higher tier classes also generally have higher class growths, all class growths themselves are static. This means if two people have the same potential they will gain the same stats upon reaching a new level.

An example would be a Lance Soldier that gains 4 HP, 2 Strength, 1 Skill, 1 Speed, 1 Defence per level up with less than 5 potential in a single stat. If we take another Lance Soldier with 10 Potential in Strength they would get 4 per each level up. It is for this reason that those who train before their first level up will surpass those of an otherwise similar Potential. Bloodlines do not just refer to specific races, a family that is famed for high strength descendants is likely the case because it is in the bloodline. Such a bloodline would make it easier to raise the Strength Potential.

The importance of Potential is made greater with the idea of being able to become a superior class at a lower level. Here is a comparison of purely class growths.

(Str - Strength, Skl - Skill, Spd- Speed, Def - Defence, Res - Resistance, HP - Hit Points)

Lance Soldier (Tier 1, Req - D Rank Lance): 4 HP, 2 Str, 1 Skl, 1 Spd, 1 Def

Lance Captian (Tier 2 Req - C Rank Lance, 20 Str, 15 Skl, 10 Def): 10 HP, 6 Str, 4 Skl, 3 Spd, 2 Def

Due to this those who have sharpened their potential or have a naturally higher potential in the required stats will be able to promote and gain greater stats from a lower level. Bloodline potential or latent potential is listed separately in the status, but only uses the final potential totals.

There are two special stats that are considered to be stuck in place for potential. Those stats being Charm and Luck.

Charm temporarily boosts the stats of those under their direct command. Every two points of Charm allows them to command an extra individual simultaneously. Every five points of charm gives a temporary buff of +1 to all stats other than HP, Luck, and Charm to those being commanded. (This does not apply for meeting class requirements.)

Luck is the chance to land a lucky hit which gives 2x the damage. Every 5 points of luck gives an extra 1% chance to give a lucky hit.
