**Loki POV**
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Your Highness. My name is Yuves Nibulg and these are my daughters Zaina and Faina." Loki gave a nod of his head as Yuves bowed with Zaina and Faina curtsying behind him. The eyes of the young Prince were wide open as he got a look at the pair who he felt were truly deserving of the title of the Nibulg Twin Gems. Such a thing didn't go unnoticed by Yuves. "Prince Loki, I hope you will excuse me for having brought my daughters without informing you. They were rather curious about you especially after your class change." Yuves and Loki were both smiling at each other as the food was being served though internally Loki was mess.
(He caught me staring didn't he? I'm pretty sure he did, but thankfully my junior isn't at that point yet. Those two really are pretty though, that Zaina looks like a Nadeshiko was it? Or some other word for a perfect woman. Totally not influenced because of that already sizeable bust ... Is she really just 10?)
Loki then looked at Faina again and just as the thought about her certainly looking her age their eyes met. Faina must of been still been feeling playful to some degree, as she puffed out her chest. "Your Highness, it isn't respectable to stare at the chest of a lady no matter how well endowed she might be ... Feel free to gaze at those over inflated fakes!" The moment after Faina had made such a proclamation the hall fell into a deadly silence. Faina was basking with what appeared to be pride of some sort, Zaina was looking down her face almost as red as a tomatoe and Yuves had closed his eyes for a short few seconds saying some internal prayers only to turn and face the more lively of his daughters.
"Faina, did I just hear that correctly? I didn't hear that did I? Surely, such a thing which I would have to report to your Mother about didn't just happen, correct?" There was a chilly undertone to his words and the pride vanished from Faina's face in a mere instant, she looked around the table in an attempt to find somebody to save her from this perilous predicament or at least one that was certainly perilous to the troublemaker herself. The moment the eyes of the young prince and the one that was looking to be more of an imp rather than a person, he felt a sinking sensation in his gut from a rather foreboding feeling.
"Father, do you really think that Mother would scold me for making it easier for Prince Loki to enjoy himself? You should me thanking me instead! Isn't that right Prince Loki?" It was taking Loki everything he had in order to not plant his head against his palm, suppressing the rather large groan that could escape his lips at any moment.
(What ... is ... she doing!? Yes a casual dinner would be so much easier for me, but why is she trying to make me defend her!? She must be a devil ... no she is little so an imp. Whoever came up with the idea of calling her a gem?)
"Sir Yuves, would you mind if I ask you a somewhat personal question?" Those words seemed to help bring the dining table closer to a sense of normalcy as Yuves nodded his head to the Prince. "There is no need to be restrained with a royal servant like myself, Your Highness." The prince gave a nod in his return and cleared his throat. "Sir Yuves, Why have I drawn the interest of the Nibulg Family? Are you wanting to have me say what my class is and how I believe I unlocked it? My eldest brother has gone quiet for a while, but I doubt he would suddenly stop trying to have me killed due to what happened."
**Yuves POV**
(Is Prince Loki really just six years old? I had heard some rumors that he was a rather odd kid, but this is something else entirely. Perhaps he isn't acting the role of a mouthpiece for the Finance Minister as much as we thought? Knowing about my daughters could be expected with how the Finance Minister has been trying to snoop around us, but how can he stay calm talking about the numerous attempts on his life? Wouldn't most kids no even princes turn into a cowering mess just at a single attempt? Yet, he can talk like this is none of his business. No, it is slightly different. He shouldn't have any life and death experience of battlefield experience. How can he stay calm and prosper?)
That final question was being played on loop in the mind of the father and diplomat almost a thousand times a second, until he managed to push it to the side rather forcibly within his mind. "As expected of Prince Loki who has been called a prodigy even within the palace, we certainly would appreciate any information about your class that you are willing to spare. However, I would like to ask that you keep it to yourself if at all possible. The more people that know, the more likely it will eventually spread. If you would pardon me for speaking as an individual rather than a member of the Nibulg Family. Prince Loki I believe that if you are able to stay alive for a few years time it would not be out of reach for you to become the Crown Prince with a nearly unshakeable position, should things be kept above the table."
His words were all elegantly and smoothly weaved together with his expression constantly morphing to fit the moment, the display had caught his daughters off guard who had their mouths wide open having gotten used to the overly doting parent opposed to the extremely competent diplomat he was showing himself to be at this very moment. This exchange had left all parties silent as they were getting closer to finishing the extravagant meals, just as they were moving onto the last dish Faina's nose twitched several times and she stared hard at the dish that had just been placed in front of Loki. Yuves noticed the way his daughter was acting and frowned as he slammed the table standing up, turning to the server and glaring at them.
(If Faina is wrinkling her nose like that ... is it a curse? Did the Crown Prince order it or has one of his other siblings started to act?)
"Bring out the chef who prepared these dishes right now! Prince Loki, my apologies, but could you refrain from eating this dish for now?" The chef had eventually been forcibly made to stand before the Prince and the Nibulg family guests. By this point Loki had a seemingly blank expression devoid of emotions, but his figure would appear as if it was shimmering in and out of existence, a byproduct of his hidden class earning a gasp of surprise from the twin gems.
(Is that an aura!? It really is a hidden class! The patriarch was right! These servants saw it though ... Well whoever provided the curse is likely done for even if it is just seen by the public as a Unique class. I'll have to get the Patriarch to order their silence ... and actually consider letting him have one of my daughters. It is for the good of the family, for the good of the family, good of the family.)
"Y-Your Highness! Lord Yuves! Lady Faina, Lady Zaina. How may this humble servant prove of use? Do you wish to request a specific dish?" Yuves narrowed his eyes signaling to the nearby Imperial Guards. "Have His Highness' food checked for sabotage and restrain this chef and all of the servants responsible for this meal." The imperial guard hesitated looking over to Loki whose body had returned to normal as he gave a nod, and it was only then that he gave the order. The guards erupted into action as several whistles were blown, most servants didn't put up a fight though the Chef took out a knife charging at the Prince with malice raging in his eyes.
**Loki POV**
Loki had begun to shudder as he was feeling the malice and killing intent from the Chef that had once served as a soldier, unable to move his legs as his heart was pounding like crazy. He thrust out his hands casting a light ball as fast as he could throwing it towards the head of the Chef. Once in front of the Chef's face it erupted temporarily blinding him, having lost his vision and hearing thumping iron boots he threw the knife towards the Prince's chair in a last ditch effort. Pushing against the table Loki managed to fall out of his chair as the knife landed, dead center right on the chair where his heart would have been. Rescue came at that exact moment and the Chef was knocked unconscious, every last servant was taken into custody for questioning and the roars of the Emperor could be heard the moment he got the report of the blatant failed attempt of murder.
(Calm down, Calm down! I'm still alive, I'm unhurt, The guards are here now as well.) Loki was taking deep breaths and a short few moments later he managed to stand up and stabilize his shaking legs, earning a smile that he hadn't noticed from Yuves whom he had just gained a better impression with. The Vice-Captain of the Imperial Guard got down to one knee in front of Loki. "Prince Loki, please allow me to guide you back to your chambers tonight. His Majesty will handle the assailant and find all the cooperators." Loki had nodded his head though it was after he swallowed down what felt like a lump of lead in his throat. "Sir Yuves would you mind if we could talk another time? I'd like to thank you for what you just did, if you hadn't ... I might have ..." Yuves took that pause to ask one final thing of Loki. "Prince Loki, would you mind allowing the Nibulg family to provide fifteen of our finest for your hunt? I would like to make up for the disgrace of not noticing this ploy sooner." That statement was so surprising to Loki that it had blown away the recent fear of death that had been about to encroach upon him to the point of tearing up. "Very well, I accept your proposal Sir Yuves. You are a nobleman worthy of my trust, Sir Mekkla, please escort me to my chambers." Yuves bowed, his daughters gave a curtsy, and the Vice-Captain gave a salute as Loki was escorted to his chambers escaping this incident unharmed physically. This attempt was the first one that got close which included a person trying to carry it out directly, shaking him that much more.
