The next morning, Manav woke up and noticed that the spot where Gwen had been sleeping was empty.
He quickly searched the entire park, but he didn't leave, thinking she would return.
If he wasn't there when she returned, it would be a problem.
The sun was about to rise, and Manav had been waiting for Gwen for an hour.
As Manav sat anxiously on a bench, he suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder.
Startled, he jumped up and screamed loudly.
"Hahaha, you're just scared like that. Hahaha."
Manav saw that it wasn't a ghost, but a blonde girl.
Although Gwen was also blonde, this girl was not Gwen.
"Who are you, and why are you scaring someone so early?" Manav asked quickly, being cautious.
"Haha, my name is Kara Zor El, others informed me about our situation," the blonde girl introduced herself, laughing heartily.
"Oh, Supergirl, yeah I know you, you are Kryptonian, Superman's older sister, who treats his sister like a little sister," Manav said, rubbing his chest.
His heart rate had increased significantly due to the scare.
"Superman? I don't know, but you know about us, so now you have to take care of us," she said in Kryptonian. Strangely, Manav could understand her, and she could understand Manav.
"Okay, so tell me, where have you been for so long?" Manav asked her seriously.
"Oh, I went to the river for a bath, Gwen told me before switching," Kara said.
"Hmm, bath, wait a minute, what did you say about switching, like we are doing at the ship on the sea?" Manav quickly caught the main word and asked Kara back.
"Yes, switch, we switched last night, and I am here now," Kara said, looking confused.
"So how many girls are there in that space of yours, before you switch?" Manav asked her to understand the whole situation.
"Hmm, at first when we were on that broken ship, sailing in the sea, the number was unknown, but now, that number has reduced to 12. The goddess said it was just a prank, not everyone was the wish," Kara said innocently, like a teenage girl.
"Well, she is a teenage girl with the brain of a 9-year-old girl.
"So can you tell me their names?" Manav asked hopefully, because his gut feeling was telling him that it would be hard to know.
"No! They told me to keep it a secret until all of us have switched.
"Okay, now stay here, I will go and take a bath, and don't attract attention," Manav said and hurried to the river.
"Oh, remember if someone comes to you, hide your face, and skin, and also don't talk, just be meek to them," Manav stopped and quickly turned back to instruct her.
After giving instructions, he quickly ran towards the river.
After half an hour, Manav returned.
"Haah, now I am feeling better after taking a fresh bath," Manav said happily.
He saw that Kara was waiting for him, sitting there silently, and watching the sun rise slowly.
"Hey Kara, let's go," Manav said to Kara, and picked up the bag.
"Okay, now listen, we will go to the market, don't talk when someone says something to you or me, okay," Manav instructed. Kara nodded consecutively.
"Don't show your skin to anyone. Don't show your face. If someone is coming to you, just stay behind me," Manav told all the rules or instructions he made while bathing in the river.
Kara was just making faces at Manav while walking behind him, ignoring his instructions, not taking them seriously.
She was just looking around curiously.
When they passed a food vendor selling freshly baked bread, a fight suddenly broke out, and everyone's attention was on them.
Manav quickly picked up a few big pieces of bread from the vendor and ran quickly towards another street, holding Kara's hand.
Kara was curiously watching the fight between those two guys.
She felt a pulling force on her hand and saw that Manav was signaling her to run with him. So, she just ran with him.
When the seller saw that his bread was missing, he quickly checked around and found Manav and Kara running.
He just cursed at them.
He knew if he left his vendor behind, his whole vendor would be looted.
After Manav and Kara ran for two streets, they sat on a stone bench near a fountain.
Both of them were laughing loudly.
"Hahaha, do you know what the expression of the seller was when he found out that his bread was missing?" Kara asked Manav, laughing loudly.
"Thief, thief, thief," Manav mimicked the fat seller with his cheeks filled with air.
Kara saw Manav mimicking the bread seller, and she just laughed out more loudly.
"Okay, okay, enough, my stomach is aching," Manav said, holding his stomach.
"Yes, let's eat bread," Kara said while snatching the loaves of bread.
"Okay, give me one, and save the rest for the night, I have taken enough for us to spend this night," Manav said, while taking the bread handed by Kara.
After both of them ate their portion of bread.
"Okay, now is the time to find a job," Manav said after taking a sip of water from the leather pouch handed by Kara.
"Yeah, time for job hunting," Kara said cheerfully.
"Don't forget the instructions given by me before, okay," Manav said to Kara with strictness.
Kara just nodded that she remembers the instructions from earlier.
Seeing her expression, Manav nodded and walked towards the road leading to the main market of this town.
"Okay, then let's go," Manav said. Kara followed him slowly, looking around.
After a few minutes of walking, they arrived at the main market.
Manav started asking around for a mechanic shop.
He asked for this because he saw that there were many diesel punk themed cars running on the street.
Although most of them were cars of the military and rich people, there must be a mechanic shop.
After knowing the direction where the mechanic's shop was, Manav led Kara there.
After walking for a few more minutes, turning many times, and changing many streets, Manav saw his destination.
The Mechanic shop.
Not one but three shops.
He walked towards one of the mechanic shops and stood in front of a counter.
"Is there a need for a mechanic?" Manav asked the lady sitting at the counter.
The lady at the counter stopped writing and saw who was talking.
She found Manav standing in front of the counter.
"No jobs," she just said and waved her hands towards Manav as if she was shooing a fly.
Manav didn't say anything and walked towards another shop.
This shop's counter lady also behaved the same way as the previous counter lady.
Manav walked to the third and last shop.
The counter lady of this shop had watched Manav get rejected twice in both shops.
So, as Manav reached the counter, she said,
"No jobs for beggars."
Manav just clenched his fists and walked towards the exit, with Kara following him.
After he walked outside the shop, he saw a car owner scolding a mechanic for not repairing his car right.
The mechanic tried to reason back, but the car owner didn't give the mechanic a chance to talk.
A horde of people was gathering in front of the shop, watching the show.
Manav quickly checked the car with his scan ability.
After the scan, he found a few problems in the engine of the car.
"Haah, these fools don't even know that the engine coolant is leaking, and there is a problem of air compression in the engine," Manav just said, and walked away from the horde, holding Kara's hand.
As for why he was holding Kara's hand, she was about to get lost following him before.
Because of his alertness, he quickly found Kara back.
She just walked into another street while they were searching for a mechanic shop.
When Manav left the horde, an old man who was standing near Manav heard the problems said by Manav.
He quickly caught the term said by Manav, the coolant, and air compression.
Although he knew what problems this car had and knew their solution, hearing a high-level problem from a street boy was a marvel.
He quickly followed Manav and called out loudly,
"Hey, stop!" The old man said.
Manav stopped when he heard someone calling him and turned towards the direction the voice sounded.
"Yes, gentleman, how can I help you?" Manav asked, trying to look like an educated person or scholar.
"I just heard your words, and you have captured the problem without checking the car," the old man praised Manav's skill, trying to check Manav from every angle to find something.
"Just a fluke, gentleman, if you don't have anything, I shall go, I have work to do," Manav said and turned around because he felt that the old man was checking on him.
"Stop, boy, I know you don't have a job, if you want one follow me, you can take your, hmm, this miss with you," the old man said and walked towards his car.
It was an open four-seater car.
The car was designed with retrofuturistic tone.
Looking very cool, Manav was amazed by the car.
The old man opened the gate of the car and sat in, waiting for Manav.
Manav knew that the old man was suspicious, but he just couldn't kick the coming opportunity.
Manav thought of betting on luck and walked towards the car with Kara.
"Wise choice, young man. Hop in," the old man praised Manav's wisdom.
