Chapter 25 - Chapter 25:To Survive: Matthew Embarks on a New Journey

"Are you sure this will work?" Dawnbreaker asked skeptically, his voice betraying his distrust of Matthew's proposed solution.

Matthew shrugged helplessly and answered honestly, "I don't know. This recipe was originally my father's unique secret, and I only played under his guidance a few times. Besides, back then, we used the blood of an iron earthworm, but now we have to replace it with the blood of this iron python lizard. Honestly, I don't have a clue in my heart." He paused and added, "But if the Iron Python Lizard's blood works, then we won't have to dig through the mud. All we can do now is beat a dead horse!"

He said that Matthew took out the container of Iron Python Lizard's blood and carefully poured some unknown substances into it. The thermal energy furnace at the bottom began to heat up, and after a short while, the mixed liquid began to gurgle and bubble. Holding a stick, Matthew kept stirring the pot of gradually boiling blue liquid, his face reflecting an eerie blue light, looking like an evil sorcerer brewing a cursed potion.

Though Dawnbreaker was brave, he couldn't help but feel a pulse now. His electronic eyes flickered as if trying to adapt to this bizarre scene.

The scales of the Iron Python Lizard had already been retrieved and were perfect for repair. However, attaching the scales to the metal armor became a significant problem. Matthew and Dawnbreaker were skilled women with no rice to cook; they had good craftsmanship but struggled to get the right tools and materials.

Fortunately, Matthew's mind is flexible; he remembered that his father once used a potent glue formula. To put barbs on Wendy's body, his father had gone through a lot of trouble coming up with this strange recipe. However, the effect was surprisingly good, and the barbs on Wendy's body had never fallen off after being hit countless times.

At this thought, Matthew's heart filled with confidence. He decided to use the Iron Python Lizard's blood to replace the Iron Earthworm's blood and try to create this powerful binding agent. Although his heart was afraid, Matthew carefully stirred the liquid in the container. When a hint of sweet scent wafted out of the container, he immediately stopped going.

Smelling that tantalizing sweet fragrance, an absurd thought suddenly flashed through Matthew's mind: If this thing smelled so good, would it taste good? The idea was quickly suppressed as soon as it arose. He kept reminding himself that impulse is the devil, impulse is the devil, and not to mess around.

Matthew took out two metal plates, brushed a layer of glue on them, and quickly stuck them together. He immediately threw the glued metal plate into a pool of water, and the blue liquid squeezed out between the two plates immediately turned colorless when it hit the water. Matthew fished the two metal plates out of the pool and wiped the water stains from them before handing them to the Dawnbreaker.

"Try it," Matthew said irresponsibly, hiding the fear in his heart behind a joke.

The Dawnbreaker tried the two metal plates out, finding that they held together surprisingly well. "Seems pretty good." He commented, "But we're bonding biomaterials to metal now; that's a new challenge."

Matthew laughed as a minimal Iron Python Lizard scale magically appeared in his hand, "See, I was prepared for this!" He proudly displayed it.

Matthew confidently took out the most significant piece of Iron Python Lizard Scale, coated it with a thick blue liquid, and then forcefully stuck it in the conspicuously large hole. He applied it so carefully that the large hole was covered so tightly that no cracks could be seen. But Matthew didn't seem satisfied and added a few more scales as if he were creating a work of art.

Dawnbreaker looked at the patchwork view of the cockpit's interior and couldn't help but be honest: "Your handiwork is, well, how shall I put it, really something special." He tried to keep his tone euphemistic.

Matthew smiled, unimpressed, "Perhaps, but who's to say it's not a unique artistic act? After all, it's the substance that counts, right?" He shrugged, then gestured outside, "Do we need to patch the outside as well?"

Dawnbreaker shook his head, "No need. We don't have extraction equipment, and if we patch the inside and outside, the air pressure from the star jumps on the inside could kill us." His explanation made Matthew realize there was still so much to learn.

The remaining pile of Iron Python Lizard scales gave Matthew a bit of trouble. Their hard work removed these scales from the Iron Python Lizard, but now they couldn't be used. It seemed a shame to throw them away, and he didn't know what to do with them if he kept them. Dawnbreaker saw his hesitation, "Put them in my subspace; there's still room there. He offered.

The two sat side by side on the top of the nearest pile of garbage in front of Matthew's house, with the towering Pulse Signal Transit Station behind them. The orange glow of the stars added a little warmth and life to the lonely planet. They sat quietly, enjoying the rare moment of peace.

As the last rays of starlight faded into the horizon, Dawnbreaker broke the silence, "The energy pectin has been replenished; it's time to move." His voice was full of determination and resolve.

Matthew nodded, knowing that while the most important thing had been accomplished, much was still to be done. He sat in the cockpit and watched as the otherwise spacious room was overflowing with energy pets of all sizes. He put on his helmet, and the world outside came into clear view.

Suddenly, Matthew felt a pang of nostalgia. This was where he had lived with his father for more than ten years, and every corner of this place had left his footprints and memories. He took a deep breath and slowly exhaled the murky air from his chest. No matter where he went or stayed in the future, he fought for survival. That was his mission and his responsibility.

Looking deeply at the place where he had grown up as a child, Matthew said quietly, "Dawnbreaker, let's go!"

Dawnbreaker floated slowly to a low altitude, then straightened violently into the sky.

As Matthew watched the Pulse Signal Relay Station beneath his feet become smaller and smaller in his eyes until it was so small that it was unrecognizable, Matthew couldn't help but be a little excited!

The speed of the Dawnbreaker was extremely high, and the outermost layer of the light armor stirred up a skinny plasma layer. Due to the high speed and air friction, sparks bloomed occasionally. With the speed of the Dawnbreaker, it soon broke free of the planet's gravity and entered the vastness of space!

Matthew looked at the dark and deep space, the colorful nebulae, bright red like yarn, blue like smoke, drifting between the stars, so beautiful that people get intoxicated!

Although it was his first time in space, Matthew was not half interested in the scenery before him.

Dawnbreaker said, "Matthew, open the Master Scholar Protection System, the green key in the third row under the armrest on your right!

Matthew did as he was told with an "Oh," and a transparent barrier rose from the seat and enveloped Matthew. Curious, Matthew lightly touched the eggshell-shaped protective oval with his hand. It was soft and flexible, similar to some gel; this was Matthew's first sensation.

Dawnbreaker's voice rang out, "Matthew, don't move, we're going to accelerate!"

Matthew: "Accelerate?"

Dawnbreaker's voice rippled, "Yes, you can only space jump until you reach a certain speed. I only have a 41% chance of accelerating to that speed, and that's theoretical!"

Matthew said indifferently, "Whatever you say, I don't have a choice anyway, do I?"

The Dawnbreaker's engines roared to life and headed into the darkness ahead, going nowhere!

Ahead, what exactly was waiting for them?
