Chapter 3 - Elysium Academy

As we walked away from the crime scene, I bit into my panini, uncaring of all the looks I got. The flavor exploded in my mouth, the chicken, the sauce, the lettuce all mixing together to create the wonder I was experiencing.

"Okay. So we leave for five minutes, and you not only get into a fight, you beat up and rob your opponent." Zari criticizes me.

"Pretty much, yeah," I reply.

"God. And you probably didn't notice he was fresh into the First Deviation, you know, the stage at which he could have very much killed you."

Blah, Blah, Blah. It all sounds the same in my head. Don't do this, he'll kill you. Don't do that, you'll get hurt.

Y'all should really understand that I don't care.

We keep walking, until we get to the launchpad, where our transport would take us to the Elysium planetiod, the entirety of which is just our school, Elysium Academy.

"Olympus students, batch 43. Please embark," The monotone voice of the system overseer for our section booms around us as the Ark descends through a hole in the wide domed ceiling.

"The Ark is a sleek and aerodynamic marvel of futuristic engineering. Its exterior is adorned with a metallic sheen that shimmers in the sunlight, thanks to advanced nanotech coatings. The craft's design incorporates smooth curves and sharp angles, optimized for maximum efficiency and speed. Equipped with advanced propulsion systems, the Ark can effortlessly glide through the air with unparalleled grace and agility. Its anti-gravity technology allows it to hover effortlessly or perform intricate maneuvers with precision." I quote it straight from the official description, my love for technology shining through, seeing as I can't use magic and tech is all I'm good for.

"Oh stop geeking out, we're already late." Cleo says.

We get on it as it lands, and get our usual seats at the very back. We still receive stares on the way, all of them on me in particular, giving me the feeling of walking into a den of lions.

My sisters gives them some stares back and the feeling disappears.

Cleo, being just 11 and Class 4 of the First Deviation makes her a genius. While Zari, at 15, is Class 7(out of 9). It normally takes people like 10 years after starting out to get there but Zari started at Cleo's age. It's actually abnormal.

And then we have me.

We sat down and took the familiar trip to the planetoid, the carnelian blue of the sky giving way to the blackness of space.

Elysium has an artificial atmosphere and bio/geosphere, probably to remove the inevitable feeling of alienation students get from learning in space. So when the darkness once again gave way to blue, I knew we were there.

The Ark descended onto the surface. The giant domes connected by a floating network of walkways, the dark mass of leaves making up the Nysa Forests, and the cluster of fields and stadiums used for sports and competitions.

All of this greeted me at once, as if to say: Welcome back.

I didn't return the greeting.

This place was the breeding ground for all of my worst memories, I hated every single student here, even my siblings, they would be understanding and they would listen, they would flash me that fake we know how you feel smile, but in the end we were of different worlds and they would never understand my pain.

Wait. Where did that come from? I would never think that about my siblings, no matter how many bones I broke that day. I just brushed it off and kept on laughing.

We landed on Elysium, on an identical launchpad to the one below us and disembarked. There were other launchpads, ferrying in students from other cities. There were probably around 12 billion students learning here at once, with so many branches and arms that you could meet a new person every day and still not meet everyone even after 200000 years. The number may seem large, but with around a hundred billion humans currently alive, the amount of middle and high school students made sense.

It was the first week of school, meaning a bunch of revisions and things of the like.

A/N: Pretty convenient for y'all don't you think?

I pulled out a wraith cloak( of my own creation), draped it around my shoulders and pulled up the hood, covering me completely in the black garment. I sent a mental command through the neural interface that connected me to the cloak, and disappeared. Light bent around me and vibrations were muted, practically erasing my presence.

I looked around, trying to find the best path to cause trouble. I moved through the crowd, intentionally bumping into people in places that would pin the blame on someone else, dropping flashbang grenades, and projectors that displayed middle fingers.

All in all, a good day's work.

I walked through the front walkway, and removed the cloak. I thought everything was going to be all right until a voice called out behind me.

"Oh really, Hunter? Just back from your suspension and already causing trouble?"

"Oh screw you! How the hell do I get suspended for excessive violence in a school where I'm the WEAKEST PERSON?!!"

"You must really be special in that weakness then." Professor Astor said calmly "And that's a strike for rudeness right there."

I was already itching to do something, but Astor would kick my ass and I would just get a detention.

A hand shoved me, nearly to the floor "Yeah Strike Slip! Keep dreaming!" I guess someone saw what I wanted to do.

Another hand.

I just sucked it up and waited for the day I would Change, because at that point, even the dead would fear me.
