Raya's POV (Past)
It's been almost a year since I joined the office and I have to see that red-lipped batfish looking like man everyday, all he does is complain about everything I do.
I have to submit the papers today and I know for a fact he won't take a second to find a nonexistent mistake on my project.
I sigh and get up, gathering all my paperwork in a file, I start walking towards his office room. After knocking several times the king finally lets me in.
"I finished my paperwork." I say placing the file on his desk and ignore the fact that he had a girl on his lap that got up when I came in.
I turn around and walk to the door.
"Wait."
Of course. He has to. I turn around and look at him with pure disgust on my face.
"Let me analyze your work, sit."
I am in no mood for arguing, I sit.
"I'll see you tonight, Melissa." He winks at the girl.
"My name is Melanie."
"See, you made me forget your name." He smirks, obviously lying but that girl surely believed him.
I take a deep breath silently.
After he finishes 'flirting' with her she finally leaves and he sits down.
I look up at him, no expression on my face.
He takes my file while looking at me, as if we are about to wrestle.
"Where's the clean version of this?" He says as soon as he opens the file.
"This is the clean version."
"Doesn't look like it."
"Clean your eyes then try to look at it."
"My eyes are clean, your handwriting is just messy."
"You just can't read."
"You can't write."
"I'll send you the PDF."
"No, I want it in paper."
Does he think we live in ancient times?
"Why?" I ask.
"Because, I said it."
"PDF." I force smile. "I'll send it right away."
I get up snatching the file from him and walk towards the door.
I reach to my desk and sit. My phone lights up as I receive a message.
Pervert🐒: Papers. Tomorrow.
Me: 🖕🏼
Pervert🐒: At 10.
*blocked*
How many times did I block and unblock him?
I end up sending him the PDF. He can go and shove the papers up his-
Whatever. I should calm my brain.
After I finish my work I gather my stuff and get ready to leave.
"Raya?"
I look back at Julia, she became my friend on the first day of work.
"Yes?" I answer a smile on my face.
"You're going home already?"
"Yeah, I have some work to do."
"Aww I was thinking we can go to my place and have dinner together."
Julia's place is in the luxurious building in front of me, she's very rich.
"Hmm…Alright."
"Amazing! let's go." She grabs my arm and leads me to her car.
She starts driving, I put my seatbelt on.
"What work do you have left? didn't you finish your paperwork yesterday?"
"I did but Ace the king couldn't 'read' it."
"He always says that when you submit your work, doesn't he?" She chuckles.
"Yeah."
"I would do it fifty times if he asked me to."
I shake my head, she's always drooling for him.
"I'm serious, I mean he is sooo hot and his voice aghh." She smiles fantasising. "And the way he talks and walks, his hair, his whole body- have you seen his body?" She bites her index finger.
"No and I get it you don't need to get in detail."
"Yeah but-"
"Julia please I don't want to talk about him."
"Alright alright, I sometimes forget you both hate each other."
After some talk finally we reach the destination. We take the elevator to her apartment, this building has almost 60 floors and she lives in the 42nd floor. The higher the floor the more expensive.
Opening the door she steps in, jumps on her couch and starts stretching.
I directly go to the balcony, the view from this floor is so beautiful, if I buy an apartment here I want it to be the penthouse but someone already lives there, i'll just buy one in the 59th floor.
"What are you thinking?" Julia asks walking towards me.
"Dreaming."
"Oh you're thinking about buying an apartment here, right?"
"Yeah."
"I told you so many times, you can come and live with me until you get one of your own."
"And I told you, right now I can't afford living with you, how else am I gonna save up?"
"Point."
"And I'm already fed up with my neighbour." I roll my eyes.
"True, it has been just 3 months and you already don't like your 'neighbour'?"
"His face was enough as a reason to dislike him."
"I would love have a neighbour like Ace."
"Should we eat?" I say changing the topic.
"Him? Hell yes!"
"Dinner." I place my hands on her shoulder and drag her to the kitchen.
After a while we finish eating dinner and start talking, for hours.
Julia fell asleep on the couch while I was in the kitchen. I pull a blanket over her and take my stuff and leave, I look at the time it's 2:38AM. I do feel sleepy but I have to redo my paperwork. I have no choice.
I walk towards my place and take the stairs because the elevator is under construction. I reach upstairs and my legs start to shake, I look up and the first thing I see is a guy and girl making out in the corridor and this guy happens to be Ace.
The corridor has apartments in front of each other and sadly this 'guy' lives in front of my apartment.
Why do I have to see these things?
And why don't they go inside?
I sigh heavily and walk towards my door and open my bag to find my keys.
"Oh? hey neighbour.."
I look back and fake smile which clearly shows my frustration.
He looks back at that girl and whispers something, she smiles and goes inside his apartment. He looks back at me.
"I thought you would be home doing the paperwork?"
"Is showing your face to me in the office not enough?"
"What can I say? destiny." He shrugs.
I open the door and walk in as I'm about to close the door he puts his hand on it to stop it from closing.
