Well, she's definitely dealing with it better than I thought.
Yeji's adaptable, that's good, it'll help her here onwards.
It's disconcerting to me sitting across her, I wasn't joking when I quoted one of my favorite books before, she's so pretty it hurts to look at her. And God, she smells so fucking good, seems like she's making good use of the products I told Abby to buy for her yesterday, everything I had seen her mention using in her social media, a long time ago.
Jesus, I almost had a heart attack when she jumped on me like that after Cerberus popped up, seems like I'll have to make him come around more times when we're alone, just to get her to jump on me again, to give me a little moment with her in my arms, awake this time. Her skin is so weirdly cold where mine is warm, but her skin is so soft, her scent is so bloody addicting.
Her attention, her looks, her voice… everything about her is like a walking addiction, tempting me he to get closer, to drown in the addiction she must be. And that look she gives me? I'm sure she feels the same way, maybe not like me, but she's undoubtedly attracted to me.
Hah, Four knows, I bet he knows. That's why he's so annoyed, he's an overprotective dog, and his little sister is attracted to me. It may not look like it, but Four is one of my only best friends, my love language is shown through bickering, he gets me, even if I'm a but unable to open up deeply, he gets me like nobody does. Diego too, he's like a brother to me, and he also gets me, but not as much as Four does.
I'm also close to Abby, even though we do bicker a lot, I care about her, she's like a little sister to me too, and she is a friend to me too, though different from her brother. But she's as protective as Four, and she always wanted to find her sister, and I'm a complicated person, maybe that's why they are so annoyed with the possibility of her being attracted to me.
Both of them know I'm attractive, all of them do, even if they find be an annoying condescending ass, which I am, they know I'm charming.
And now Yeji knows too.
Or maybe it's the fact that her mind seems to work in a similar way to mine, or that our personalities are similar, or the undoubted fact that we have lots of things in common. Destructive power included, as mine is the most destructive out of us, and that's why I'm so valuable, plus my overall skill and intelligence. They know that, if she ends up having a destructive power too, I'll be the one to take her under my wing in the academy.
I get it, I would be jealous if I was them too. Thankfully, I'm not.
"Ajumma," I purred and her breathtaking ice blue eyes crashed on mine, curiosity and annoyance blooming on them, "aren't you bonded to dobermans?" Her eyes widened as she realized what I was going to say, "How are you scared of dogs if your bonded to a breed of them?"
"Ahjussi!" She hissed mortified and I grinned mischievously.
"What?" Everyone gasped.
"You're scared of dogs?" Zio almost choked on his cappuccino. "Why? Are you scared of dobermans too?"
She kicked my left ankle hard under the table, glaring at me, then turning to her father, "I'm not scared of dogs."
"Well, you weren't lying when you called yourself a liar, ajumma," I purred and she turned her beautiful angered eyes to me again, as if wanting to kill me with her addicting glare. I wouldn't mind it, at all. "When she saw Cerberus she got terrified and began crying, and,"
"Ahjussi," she growled, "I did not cry!"
"Half scream, half cried then, ajumma," I purred. "I had to save her again from Cerberus this time. She's was horrified, calling the poor boy a monster, it was adorable."
"You piece of," she censured herself, side-eyeing my siblings for a second, then glaring at me again. "Were you born unbearable like this or did you get classes with the devil, ahjussi?"
"Nah, I was born this charming, ajumma," I smirked, provokingly.
"Charming?" She mocked and turned to eomma, "Hyorin-ssi, why did you deluded him like this? I know eommas are supposed to be kinder to us then the rest of the world, but look at this," she pointed to me, "he's ego is bigger than his… legs."
Oh, she was definitely going to say something else. Ugh, I would definitely poke on that if we were alone, but I can't say that with eomma, her dad, her grandpa, and Four here. Though I love fighting, I don't wanna be punched today.
Eomma pouted, "But don't you think he's charming?"
Her jaw dropped is dismay, then her eyes met mine again, and her cheeks slowly began to turn red, then it spread over her whole face, then her ears, and I'm sure that if her neck wasn't covered by the turtle-neck, her blush would also have covered the skin there. "No," she growled, lying.
"Ajumma," I whispered, "does it hurt your pride to lie like that?"
"You are not charming, ahjussi," she growled. "Don't even try, you are not my type, you're too tall for that."
Hah, not even her believe that. "If you say so," I licked my lips, not able to hide my amusement grin. "I mean, it would be totally understandable if you found me charming, ajumma. I did save your life some times."
"I did not ask for any of that, ahjussi," she hissed.
"You more than asked the last time, ajumma," I provoked.
"You…" She gasped, swallowed, took a deep breath, and turned to her father. "I'm not scared of dobermans, but I confess that I am not a fan of dogs. It's not fear," she said through clenched teeth, "I just really don't like them near me, and that… Cerberus, is the hugest hound I've ever seen in my life, and I'm used to dobermans, it made me jump out of my skin."
"Aka, she's scared," I chanted and she glared at me.
"Where are your other… friends? I mean, the others who probably fit in this huge table. The ones I saw last time. They are part of your circle, no? Why is it just us today? Or are you closer to each other than the others?" Well, that's a fair question.
"Our friends are in the Academy," Abby told her, "It's Tuesday. Their parents are working, and yes, we are all pretty tight and close, though uncle Hiro is best friends with papa, they are all really close friends with the others. Like in Friends, you know the sitcom? But in huger size."
"Ah, yeah, I know. Halmeoni and… and Kit loved watching that."
"Kit was your little brother, right, noona?" Kai asked and I froze, we all froze, knowing that's an extremely triggering topic for Yeji. "I saw your videos on TikTok with him, you are an amazing dancer. Both of you."
She visually shivered, tensing up, her eyes going to her hands for a long instant as she inhaled and exhaled, trying to calm herself, before doing her best to meet my little brother's eyes again, "Yeah," she whispered. "Georgi Kit Nosht-Kim, his Korean name was Choi Seo-jun, but I called him Kit. Blood-relation speaking, he was my… my cousin, but after my aunt Harmony and my uncle Julien passed away when I was a kid, his guard went to eomma and he became my little brother. He was… 12 years old, he was two years older than you, and also taller than me by a bit," she smiled but it didn't reach her sad eyes.
"I… I'm sorry for asking, noona," my brother apologized, noticing how sad she got.
"No, no," she smiled again, sadly, "it's okay, Minho. Yes, it hurts like hell, but I don't want to forget him, neither to wipe him out. Speaking of him to those who didn't meet him, means he'll still… he'll still live in one way other than another. The damage is done, I can't go back in time and avoid them from getting into that train, and even if I could, knowing eomma, she would listen to me."
