Katarina's POV
As I finished having my bath in the maids bathroom, I took up my personal belongings and walked to the door to see it glowing red.
Apparently, someone had thought it smart to lock me in the bathroom since I was supposedly blind and scorched the door knob till it was hot red.
If I fell for it I would have to deal with a lot of pain which was something I didn't want to do.
I had to follow Kirigan's advice and I decided to listen to how many people were outside the door.
I heard around four voices. It was a party.
I was going to show them how smart I was and how they were dumb who couldn't bring down a woman from the future.
Using my bucket as a club, I hit the door open which flung it open as the door hit the party.
They all fell to the ground for they had not expected that to happen.
They had expected that I would only touch the knob and scream for help. But that was not the case seeing as I was smarter than them.
I didn't apologize but started on my way to my room.
I reached a certain point in my step to see a few nails laid around strategically so I would step on them.
If I was blind this would have been a terrible time for me, but I was born with sight to see my enemies and now I would make sure they regretted whatever they were trying to do to me.
I trudged my feet on the ground as I slid across the nails, pushing them to the side while shocking the people behind me.
When I got to the stairs, I found the ground flooded with oil.
Using my so called blind instinct, I slowly climbed until I got to the top and headed for my room.
While there I dressed and got ready for work.
I had been given a cane by the prince to make my blindness look real which I used to stump around and navigate my way.
As I got out of the room, a maid reached out to me to tell me that I needed to go to Trina's room to get a blue flowery gown for her which was on the bed and give a tailor in the garden.
"But I work for the prince and not…"
She didn't care as she walked away while I sighed and decided to do it without complaint.
Since there were no cameras around the room, I would be able to get the work done with no one spying on me.
How could Trina send a blind girl to look for a gown in a pile of clothes? Was she even thinking straight?
As I approached the woman's chambers, her maids whispered words of malice and cast their dirty glances in my direction.
Ignoring their hostility, I maintained my composure, determined to carry out my duties with grace while hitting the cane on the path before me.
As I entered her chambers to collect her gown for the morning, I discovered that the maids had tampered with it.
The elegant fabric had been subtly slashed, rendering it unwearable. Panic surged within me as I realized the trap they had set. I quickly decided to inform Trina which I did as she feigned surprise and disappointment, her eyes glinting with satisfaction.
"Thank you so much for reporting the heinous crimes to me. And you're sure you could feel the clothes and know they were slashed," she said.
"All I knew was that when I picked up a cloth from the bed, pieces of fabrics fell to the ground. I picked them up and found out they were torn clothes."
I knew if I kept up these lies, she would notice I was not blind. I had to be very careful.
"Alright," she smiled at me. "Thank you for telling me. I will get to the bottom of this."
And so I was dismissed as I headed back to my room, amidst dangerous looks.
Day after day, the maids devised increasingly devious traps, hoping to break my spirit.
One morning, as I prepared the prince's breakfast with the help of a maid who smirked while having a vial of poison open on the table before me since I couldn't see, I discovered she was going to use it among the ingredients.
It was a blatant attempt to frame me for an act of treachery.
I waited for her to finish as she handed the tray to me which I took and slowly climbed the stairs to the prince's room.
When I entered his room and dropped it on the bed, he looked at me with raised brows.
"You're trying tell me that you made breakfast for me?" He chuckled. "You do know you're blind right?"
"Yeah, I do," I sighed as I walked to the window to look out of it before turning to see him about to sip the soup. "Oh and it's poisoned."
He dropped the plate on the ground which shattered, pouring soup all over the bed and floor.
"What the hell do you mean?" He stood in a furious manner.
"I just told you. It's poisoned."
"You poisoned it?"
"I didn't," I sighed. "One of the maid did since I was blind she thought I wouldn't notice so she is trying to frame me and get me out of here."
"What did you do to make so many people hate you that they would be willing to go to these lengths?"
That was a question I didn't know the answer to, but I was hoping he could tell me seeing as he was the prince.
"Do you know who the maid is?" He asked as I shrugged.
"I'm blind remember. How can I know who she is?"
"Just point her out and let me get rid of her."
"She wears a blue ribbon on her left arm. I'm sure you'll know her."
