Chapter 3 - Thrown Out— Literally!

Katarina's POV

I could not hold myself as I exploded in anger at the sight before me. This was not possible. This should definitely not be happening right now!

What was the meaning of this?

"What are you two doing here?" I asked, walking to the couch they were sitting on. I immediately looked at their hands intertwined and felt disgusted by what I was looking at. "Will you two split up immediately? What's the meaning of you two holding hands?"

"That's no way to speak to our guests," I heard my mother speak behind me as I turned to see her with a plate of food while servants beside her carried their own plates filled with drinks and whatnot.

"Mother, what are you doing?" I asked in shock as she used a hand to push me out of the way, dropping the food on the table in front of my husband.

"Here you go, George," she said with a smile. "Eat up. I'm sure Riley must have tried to help you in various ways and I am sorry for what Katarina here has done to you."

I was taken aback by such words. What stupid words were these?

"Mother, what are you…"

But I could not finish my statement as she stood up and slapped me across the cheek which had me reeling backwards.

I had not expected that from her.

"Mum!" I yelled, holding my cheek. "What did I do?"

"First of all, you show up and you disrespect our guest, then you don't stop there, you also question my actions? Your rudeness almost cost us everything."

I was confused at what she was talking about.

"Mum, I don't know what you're talking about," I sighed. She rolled her eyes as she pointed to Riley to stand up and narrate what I had done.

"I'll repeat everything that happened," Riley said to her feet as my father walked in with his arms folded in anger. He was fuming. "Katerina came to me crying one night. She revealed how she didn't love George anymore and was now sick of him. She also revealed the new person whom she had just fallen in love with to me. She begged me to seduce George and make him start sleeping, so he wouldn't notice her absence most times." As she spoke, my mouth fell open in shock and disbelief.

"I refused to do it at first but Kat was very desperate and because of how much I loved her, I agreed to help her out. She was aware of it all from the onset and kept encouraging me to keep it up. Then she randomly arrived home yesterday and acted like she hadn't been the one to set the entire thing up!"

"Riley!" I yelled in shock but I couldn't say anything else because my father cleared his throat as a warning for me to speak again and feel his wrath. I was not in the mood to fight and my mothers smack still hurt my cheek so I kept quiet.

Riley went on with her lies as I stood before her and watched as she narrated and explained events which never happened.

Where I lost it was when she said I had stabbed her with a knife.

"Oh you are such a dirty liar and a bitch!" I yelled. I looked at my approaching father. "You know, instead of attacking me, you should ask her where I had hurt her."

He stopped and looked at Riley who smiled at me before rolling up her sleeve to show a little wound that looked like it had been caused by a hair pin.

"She used the one she has on her head right now to attack me," she said. I was shocked beyond words.

"George? Are you going to sit there and listen to all of this when you clearly know that I never did any of that to her?" I expected my husband to at least fight for me, but he looked straight into my parents eyes and said the most devastating words to them.

"Riley has explained everything that happened just as it should be explained."

I fell onto a couch in exhaustion, watching my parents insult me and curse me. I was done. How could I come back from this?

I could not even tell my own side of the story as they wouldn't allow me to talk. All they wanted was for me to apologize for my actions which I did begrudgingly.

"Now that I have apologized, can I explain myself?" I leaned forward, ready to expose the frauds but they still wouldn't hear it.

"Katarina," my father started with a sigh. "You have brought upon this family dishonor and disgrace. I can only tell you that this family does not want such disgrace and you have single handedly embarrassed us without even trying that hard."

"Dad, I…"

"Silence!" he yelled, cutting me from saying anything. "Don't you talk when I am talking."

I could see Riley smiling at me which had me fuming. I could not say what she had done because no one would listen to me. Even George whom I expected to be apologetic wasn't.

He sat there, his eyes not even focused on me but on his phone, not feeling the slightest concern for what was going on. He was heartless.

"Now like I was saying," continued my father, the room becoming silent. "Due to the dishonor you brought to the family, I will have no choice but to disown you and cut you off from the family funds and the family will."

"Dad!"

"All properties with you as the heir will be shifted to that of your sister. I will not have anything to do with anyone who hurts family and hurts her husband. Especially after you hurt George, who do you think you are?"

"That is a lie! They're lying to you!"

But my words fell on deaf ears. He was done talking as he pointed to the door.

In anger, I stormed out of the house, heaving into the car to drive home.

I would wait there until George was back so we would talk about his actions, however, when I drove into the compound, I found my bags and luggage outside the building.

If I had to recount my embarrassing moments, this would be at the top.

This was something I didn't know would be up to this level.

I parked into the garage, and on getting out, it's to see how scratched and battered the bags were. They had clearly been thrown out with brute force.

How could George do all of this to me? To the point of throwing me out of a house which was gifted to us my my parents!

how dare he?
