Finally, the man came to his senses and scooped up his son. He watched the big dog flee in panic, and he too let out a sigh of relief, with large beads of sweat emerging from his cheeks. Perhaps this was what people refer to as fear felt after a close call.
The child, on the other hand, seemed not to care at all, even finding the whole situation rather amusing.
Under normal circumstances, after such an event, the man should have come to thank me right away, but he seemed a bit different from the rest; not only did he not thank me, he actually glared at me angrily.
"Kid, it's all because of you. If you hadn't been following us around, my son wouldn't have stood behind by himself, and he wouldn't have teased the dog. Fortunately, nothing happened to my son today, otherwise, I wouldn't let you off easily," he said, then turned and left with a cold snort.
