"Thanks," she said, baring her small, white teeth with a very happy expression. But as soon as she stepped outside, not yet entering the mountain, she heard a series of hurried footsteps.
"Hmm?"
Looking back, her face instantly darkened.
Liang Yuening was holding an ax, casting a disdainful glance at Dong Huiying before snorting coldly.
"Pfft," she rolled her eyes and then picked up her pace walking faster and faster until she even started sprinting.
Liang Yuening cursed loudly and then chased after Dong Huiying with heavy breaths.
Dong Huiying's face turned even darker.
"Liang Yuening!"
Suddenly, she stopped in her tracks, panting and glaring at the man who had been doggedly following her.
"Will this ever end?" This guy must be addicted, right?
"You—" He glared and then turned his face away, muttering softly, "Why so fierce!"
"So, it's my fault again?"
No justice at all. "The road leads to heaven; let's go our separate ways. Can you please stop following me?"
