Chapter 1 - 1: His eyebrows and eyes are as gentle as the bright moon (1)_1

In the early spring, a gentle spring rain pitter-pattered endlessly.

Dong Huiying was a doctor, proficient in Chinese medicine and with complementary knowledge in Western medicine, earning the accolade of the 'Divine Doctor.' Her greatest hobby in life was eating. Having heard that a new seafood restaurant had opened in Qingdao, she excitedly bought a ticket and flew towards Qingdao, only to encounter severe air turbulence during the flight, which ultimately resulted in the plane crashing into Changbai Mountain Tianchi.

When she opened her eyes again, she found herself here…

Sitting on the edge of an earthen kang bed, she rubbed her arms, feeling a bit cold. It was probably because the weather in the mountains hadn't warmed up yet. The temperature was low, and the ongoing rain brought a chill with it.

She lifted the thin quilt, which was very old but clean, adorned with several patches.

She looked around and saw that this was a yellow-mud kang bed, about eight or nine meters wide, covered with an old rattan mat. The side of the kang was slightly charred. On the floor stood an old cabinet, and there was also a rough hemp door curtain.

"Heavens…" She moaned, holding her forehead.

Suddenly, a set of light footsteps approached from afar. The person lifted the coarse hemp curtain and walked in with a brass water basin in hand.

"You're awake?"

This person's voice was like a heavenly melody, as clear as a stream in a mountain ravine, able to cleanse the soul.

Dong Huiying warily looked at the newcomer, only to see a stunningly handsome man with a distant mountain-like gracefulness.

His brows and eyes were as gentle as the bright moon. Warm and smooth like jade, he seemed like an elegantly blooming white magnolia, so tranquil. Even clothed in coarse linen, his magnificent aura and spirit could not be concealed.

Dong Huiying suddenly stared blankly for a moment.

The man was indeed handsome, with a bright and clear external appearance and fresh and white teeth. Unfortunately, the handsome man was disabled, with his right leg dragging behind him as a heavy burden. He moved slowly and gingerly, clearly very inconvenienced. This flaw detracted from his attractiveness somewhat.

Dong Huiying once again turned her gaze back to the man's refined and distinct face, only to see that the man was also gazing intently at her.

His black eyes were like a still pond, calm and undisturbed, and subtly beautiful as if part of a painting. However, this man seemed to lack the liveliness of a living person, instead emanating a numb and lifeless air. Yet even so, he remained gentle, like a cool breeze under the moon, profound and elegant.

"Are you alright?"

The man set down the water basin.

Dong Huiying responded with a nasal "Mmhmm." She continued to fix her gaze on the man, only to see him turn his face slightly away, as if to avoid her stare.

"Come, the water is still warm. You should wash your face first."

"Uh…" She was slow to look towards the brass basin, and then, she felt a sudden jolt in her chest, her entire being unsettled.

Isn't this too frightening?

Surprise or not, expected or unexpected?

Reflected on the surface of the water was a pitch-black little face.

The young girl was barely eighteen, her face covered with blemishes. Judging from her appearance, her personality seemed to be the type prone to a fiery temper, easily irritable and crude, and quite violent?

Suddenly, she had a look of utter desolation on her face.

Really, it was too embarrassing.
