No matter how hard I try, my mind can't come up with a battle strategy while I'm fighting for my life. In fact, while battling the faceless stranger (because it's just him fighting with me; the others remain on the sidelines), I've discovered he's extremely strong. If it weren't for the training Tui gave me to better sense my surroundings, I'd already be dead.
Luke snaps me back to reality when he steps in front of me, barely managing to stop some thorns launched by the faceless man with a weak water barrier. The barrier dissolves immediately upon impact, but it was strong enough to save us.
"We have to go. Now."
Luke looks back at me and doesn't argue. He knows we need to flee now or never. He glances nervously around and leans slightly forward, lowering his voice.
"How do we do it?"
I lift my head, and a few rays of light filter through the trees and hit my skin, giving me a soft warmth and a great idea.
