She placed her right hand over it and infused a bit of her Kiroshin. At first, nothing happened, but seconds later, the color of the crystal changed.
It turned...
Blue.

Kaito observed the unfolding events in silence, his gaze fixed on the shifting hue of the crystal from pristine white to a mesmerizing blue. Such a transformation could only signify one thing: the retention of her dojutsu abilities. Yet, this carried numerous advantages.
Unlike many vampires who must invest significant time in mastering and acquiring new powers, she would not face such a demanding learning curve. All newly turned vampires must acclimate to the dark energy known as Kiroshin, mastering it before attempting to harness new abilities.
This process is prolonged, especially for those not born into it like purebloods or hybrids. However, her upbringing in a world saturated with chakra bestowed upon her a unique advantage, as Chakra and Kiroshin bore similarities. With dedicated training, she could harness this energy.
Nevertheless, she required extensive training in fundamental skills possessed and shared by all vampires: teleportation, hypnosis, and heightened sensory control ects. . Above all, she needed more blood, he mused, keeping a watchful eye on the green-haired girl.
As the girl's face lit up upon witnessing the crystal's transformation, she turned towards him, approaching with a wide smile adorning her lips.
'Cute,' he thought, allowing himself a hint of pleasure at her joy, albeit just a hint, one he would never admit to her.
As she stood before him, about to speak, he preempted her, beginning to address her.
"I see you've retained the power of your dojutsu. This means you won't require much training, as it will essentially function the same, albeit this time with Kiroshin instead of chakra."
"You'll notice the energy within you multiplying with each passing minute, albeit at a significantly slower rate than if you were to consume blood or absorb chakra from others. At the moment, I have an ample supply of blood bags to sustain you for a few months. However, after that, we'll need to venture out for sustenance."
"Yet, you're too weak at the moment. You're stronger than a Genin but weaker than many others, though at least at Baron level. This needs to change. The plan, therefore, is for you to master all the basics every vampire should possess, and to grow stronger before our food resources deplete. By then, you should aim to reach the level of a Duke or even a Prince," he concluded, explaining the situation to the girl.
As he spoke, Yukiko listened attentively and earnestly. However, Kaito could discern that she had much on her mind, though she hesitated to voice her thoughts. He couldn't fathom why she shied away from asking him questions, even though it was clear she wanted to.
'Is she perhaps afraid of me?' the pureblood vampire pondered, brushing aside a few strands of hair that had fallen during his explanation.
"Understood? Do you have any questions?" he inquired.
"No, everything's clear," she responded, though her eyes betrayed a different sentiment. He genuinely wished to know what she wanted to ask and why she hesitated. Thus, unable to wait any longer for her to speak up on her own, he prodded her.
"What's on your mind? And don't tell me it's nothing. It's evident that you've had questions since you woke up, yet you've been hesitating. I just can't wait any longer for you to come forth with them," he pressed.
Yukiko was momentarily taken aback by his perceptiveness.
'Perhaps it's his superhuman senses,' she briefly considered. However, she shook her head, dismissing the thought. It wasn't pertinent at the moment.
With a barely perceptible nod, Kaito acknowledged her silent inquiry, silently urging her to voice her concerns. He was not one to tolerate ambiguity, especially when it came to matters as crucial as this. Whatever doubts or uncertainties lingered in her mind, he intended to address them head-on, for the sake of clarity and understanding.
She needed to carefully formulate her questions. Truthfully, she didn't want to ask him because she wasn't sure how he'd react or if he'd even answer. Yet, she could see in his eyes that he wouldn't accept anything but the truth from her. So, she cautiously began to articulate her inquiries.
"I wanted to ask... no, I wanted to know who sealed you in that coffin? And what exactly is your plan for the future, and why do you harbor such animosity towards humans?"
"I've noticed that your disdain isn't as pronounced when referring to people from other universes, as you mentioned, as when you speak of the humans in this world. Ar—"
However, before she could finish speaking, she interrupted herself as she witnessed the darkening of the man's countenance and the gathering of dark energy around him.
In that moment, Kaito's expression hardened, his features carved from stone as he struggled to contain the surging tide of his inner turmoil. The darkness that enveloped him was a visceral reminder of the ceaseless battle raging within his soul, a relentless struggle against the demons that threatened to consume him whole.
The ground, the walls, everything in the room began to tremble, with even the floor beginning to splinter.
She felt her body grow weaker and heavier than ever before, sinking to one knee. Her head spun so intensely that she briefly saw stars, entertaining the thought that she might truly perish as the room seemed on the brink of collapse.
For a sometime, the air crackled with tension, the silence echoing like a deafening roar in the depths of their shared consciousness. And then, as swiftly as it had emerged, the darkness receded, dissipating into the ether like wisps of smoke carried away by an unseen wind.
As the room gradually settled into a fragile semblance of calm, Kaito's gaze softened, a faint glimmer of remorse flickering behind the mask of his stoic facade. It was a fleeting glimpse of vulnerability, a rare moment of introspection amidst the chaos that engulfed them.
With a resigned sigh, Kaito reached out, offering Yukiko a steadying hand as she struggled to regain her composure. There was a lingering tension that lingered between them like an invisible barrier.
