Chapter 14 - Chapter

"If you ever have thoughts of betraying me, I will sense it. And if you betray me in the future, your soul will be burned by a blue flame, and you will turn to ashes and vanish forever."

"That's why you should never betray me if you want to continue living!"

Tokiomi Clan

.

.

.

The Tokiomi, an ancient and formidable clan, with its roots stretching back to the ancient era preceding the Warring States period, even rumored to have ties to the legendary Sage of Six Paths or at least to have been formed during that epoch.

Renowned for their extraordinary dojutsu abilities, which rivaled those of prominent clans like the Uchiha and Hyuga, their distinctive features included stunning emerald hair and luminous amber eyes shared by all members.

Not only did they possess one of the most potent dojutsu, but they also boasted robust physical prowess akin to the Senju. In essence, they stood as a powerful force, challenging the dominance of the Senju and Uchiha, striking fear into the hearts of others.

However, the choice of "were" over "are" speaks volumes. The once-revered Tokiomi clan met their demise, betrayed by their own village and allies who grew envious and fearful of their unparalleled power.

Their glory days are now a distant memory. The very powers that once inspired fear led to their downfall as others, intimidated by their might, turned against them. Their village, their allies— all betrayed them, driven by envy and fear of their abilities.

Yet, unbeknownst or perhaps willfully ignored by others, only a select few within the clan - the clan's leader and a select few elders - possessed the ability to manipulate time, alongside showcasing the prowess of their dojutsu.

Contrary to the era of the Sage of Six Paths or subsequent times, most members lacked the strength to fully manifest the potential of their cherished dojutsu.

Various factors contributed to the inability to harness or control their dojutsu powers.

Some lacked the necessary chakra reserves, leading to the draining of their life force upon attempting to wield it. Others possessed abundant chakra but lacked the requisite control or innate talent, resulting in disastrous consequences such as splitting one's being in half.

Indeed, it was a lamentable circumstance for such a formidable dojutsu to remain concealed from the world. Properly understood and mastered, it could elevate an individual to unprecedented heights of power, rivaling even the legendary figures like Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha.

Yet, the tragedy lies in the annihilation of the Tokiomi clan, leaving only one survivor bearing the mantle of their extraordinary dojutsu - Yukiko Tokiomi, the heiress to the clan's legacy.

Daughter of Shin Tokiomi, the clan's leader, Yukiko stands as the solitary remnant of her lineage, the sole survivor of a night of devastation where she, despite the odds, exacted a heavy toll upon her enemies before emerging as the lone survivor.

~~~~~
Yukiko awoke with a start, a muffled cry escaping her lips. Since that fateful day she had to live with the weight of her grief and guilt, haunted by nightmares of her fallen kin accusing her, her only solace only being her unwavering resolve for vengeance.
Each day is a struggle against the torment of her memories, yet she remains steadfast in her determination to avenge her clan and ultimately join them in death. Her path is clear - to become strong enough to vanquish all who participated in the genocide that claimed her family and clan.
Her thoughts drifted to her conversation with Kaito the previous day. His reassurances about their shared vendetta offered some solace amidst her turmoil. Initially angered by his delayed disclosure, she pondered whether foreknowledge would have altered her choices.
Ultimately, she concluded that her determination to grow stronger remained unchanged. She was resolute in her quest to carve her own path, irrespective of the consequences. If aligning with Kaito meant utilizing his resources for her vengeance, so be it. In the end, strength was her sole pursuit, regardless of the means.
As the weight of her deliberations settled upon her, Yukiko realized she was running late for their training session. Hastily donning the training attire provided by Kaito, she made her way to the designated field.
When she arrived, she saw Kaito standing in the middle of the training field, gazing thoughtfully at the sky. She quickly ran to him, apologizing as she took a short, deep breath and exhaled.
However, Kaito merely glanced at her before shaking his head and flicking his fingers, conjuring various devices, some familiar and others strange. They seemed to be obstacles for ninja training, designed to enhance speed and endurance. Once the devices were set, Kaito began to speak.
"First, we'll focus on building your endurance and speed. It seems you've only recently reached genin level. Then, we'll work on your reflexes and flexibility."
"Finally, I'll demonstrate how to use Kenshin and provide exercises for better Kenshin control, including basics like teleporting etc., but only if you demonstrate enough control. We'll spend a few months on this before moving to more complex techniques."
After the brief explanation, he instructed her to start running, warning her not to stop, as dangerous creatures would appear, forcing the young girl to run for her dear life.
Blindfolded, she ran earnestly, aiming to sharpen her outer senses, as Kaito claimed it would improve with practice. Initially, it felt manageable, but soon objects on the ground began moving swiftly toward her direction, seemingly intent on colliding.
No matter how she maneuvered, they followed, as if guided by some unseen force. Glancing back, Yukiko realized that the one who was controlling them is in fact - Kaito.
'-How,' she wondered briefly, before refocusing on the task at hand.
Suddenly, a massive snake, its mouth agape, emerged behind the heiress of the Tokiomi clan. She shuddered more intensely than ever before, her aversion to snakes and reptiles reaching an unprecedented level.
The mere thought of them sent shivers down her spine, and now, seeing one alive before her, jaws wide open, she was on the verge of fainting.
She dodged its attack with difficulty, her legs feeling like jelly from fear, but she pushed herself to keep running, knowing that stopping would mean being eaten alive.
Racing for her life with an energy and speed she never knew she possessed, she realized that it was going to be an exceedingly challenging and long day ahead.
