She realized, perhaps for the first time, just how isolated he must feel, the last of his kind in an unfamiliar world.
"How did you come here?" she finally asked, her voice barely above a whisper. But he merely smiled, a cryptic expression that offered no answers.

Long, long ago, in a distant universe, there existed a small planet teeming with life. Its inhabitants consisted of humans and other sentient beings, but none of them possessed any supernatural abilities.
They lived by their wits and ingenuity, relying solely on the resources the planet provided.
Over the centuries, humanity, driven by its boundless curiosity and intelligence, created remarkable technologies.
From primitive tools to advanced weapons like pistols and even atomic bombs, humans pushed the limits of their innovation.
However, their progress came at a steep cost. They exploited the planet's resources recklessly, causing severe damage to their environment.
Problems like climate change began to spiral out of control, and humanity teetered on the brink of a self-inflicted catastrophe.
But the true turning point—the event that would change everything—came not from within but from beyond.
Aliens from unknown corners of the universe descended upon the blue planet. These invaders possessed abilities far beyond the comprehension of its inhabitants—powers that seemed magical in nature.
The aliens, cold and calculating, used their overwhelming strength to subjugate humanity, enslaving them and transporting them to their homeworld, a strange and unfamiliar place later named Interearth.
For years, humans lived under the rule of these aliens overlords. Yet amidst the despair, something extraordinary began to occur.
Gradually, the genetic makeup of humans began to change. It was as if the very essence of the planet's captives was adapting to their harsh new reality.
Over time, some humans began to awaken extraordinary abilities of their own.
This genetic awakening marked the birth of new races: werewolves, elves, and vampires.
Each race was distinct, gifted with unique powers, but they all shared one significant trait—their lifespan increased dramatically, granting them near-immortality compared to ordinary humans.
The emergence of these new races reshaped the balance of power. Humans, along with their evolved brethren, began to resist their alien oppressors.
Despite their differences, they formed a fragile alliance, uniting under a common cause: to overthrow the aliens and reclaim their freedom.
Decades passed, and the war against the invaders raged on. Battles were fought on land, in the skies, and even in the depths of Interearth's strange oceans.
Casualties were staggering, but the combined might of the four races eventually prevailed. Together, they annihilated their alien oppressors, ensuring none would remain to threaten their world again.
With the war over, hope for peace emerged. But peace, as history often shows, is fragile.
The four races attempted to coexist, building a new society on Interearth. However, their inherent differences—ideologies, ambitions, and the unequal distribution of power—soon sowed discord.
Tensions simmered beneath the surface until they finally boiled over.
Humans, in particular, feared the vampires. Their reliance on blood for sustenance—whether from humans or the other races—made them a threat.
Humans, being the physically weakest of the four races and possessing only rudimentary abilities, relied heavily on their weapons to defend themselves. Paranoia and mistrust festered, eventually leading to betrayal.
The breaking point came when a trusted human ally of the vampire leader betrayed him in cold blood, stabbing him in the back during what was meant to be a peaceful meeting.
This act of treachery ignited a conflict that would burn for a century.
Known as The Eclipse War, it was the bloodiest and most brutal conflict the world had ever seen.
Every race participated, driven by vengeance, greed, and the desire for dominance. Battles raged across the lands, leaving countless dead and entire regions devastated.
The war was so horrific that it became the stuff of legend, a tale destined to be recounted in history books for millennia.
In the end, there was no victor. Exhausted and ravaged by the endless bloodshed, the leaders of the four races convened to negotiate a fragile truce.
They agreed to divide the land among themselves, each race retreating to its own territory to live in isolation.
Humans claimed the south, werewolves the north, elves the east, and vampires the west. The truce stipulated peace for 100 years, after which the terms could be revisited.
And so, the first and greatest war among the races came to an end—not with triumph, but with a tenuous agreement to avoid further conflict, at least for a time.
Thus, the races lived in their own separate domains, each nursing its own wounds and mistrust. The memory of The Eclipse War lingered like a dark shadow over their lands, a stark reminder of what happens when unity crumbles under the weight of fear and ambition.

The young lady sat spellbound, hanging onto his every word as Kaito recounted the tale. Her emotions fluctuated between awe and disbelief, yet a strange certainty told her that he wasn't lying.
Occasionally, she interrupted, her curiosity prompting questions about werewolves, elves, and the other unfamiliar terms he mentioned. Despite the fantastical nature of the story, it felt undeniably real.
"That's everything about the origin of vampires," Kaito concluded, his tone firm. He paused, his crimson eyes studying her reaction.
"However, what many non-vampires don't know is that there are three types of vampires. Namely..."
The young woman leaned forward, her anticipation palpable, as he began explaining the hierarchy of vampiric types.
"First, there are the pure-blood vampires," he said full of pride.
"They are the most powerful and unique among our kind. With their striking white hair and piercing blue eyes, pure-bloods are not only immortal but also possess extraordinary abilities, including the rare power to turn others into vampires."
"They cannot be killed—only sealed. But even sealing them is no small feat. It requires specific conditions, ancient rituals, and immense power to trap a pure-blood."
She listened intently, her mind racing with the implications. The idea of such beings—immortal and nearly invincible—was both terrifying and fascinating.
"Next, there are hybrids," he continued.
"They are born from the union of a vampire and another race. You can identify them by their unique eyes—one lilac-red and the other orange. Hybrids are... complicated. "
"If neither parent is a pure-blood, they are mortal and can be killed like any other being. However, if even one parent is a pure-blood, hybrids become half-immortal. "
"This means they cannot be easily killed; the only way to end their lives is for a pure-blood to strike the killing blow. Their dual nature makes them powerful but also vulnerable in specific ways."
The young lady's eyes widened as he spoke, her mind conjuring images of beings with such striking appearances and abilities.
"And finally," Kaito said, his tone dipping slightly, "there are the normal vampires. They retain their original hair color, but their eyes turn blood-red after their transformation."
"They are not immortal like pure-bloods, nor are they half-immortal like hybrids, but they are still far from ordinary. Even the weakest vampire possesses a remarkable healing ability, making them difficult to kill."
He paused for a moment, letting the weight of his words sink in before continuing. "There are also ranks among vampires, based on their power and lineage, but I think that's enough information for today."
Kaito's gaze shifted to her, noting the dissatisfaction on her face. She frowned slightly, her pouty expression making her frustration clear.
The sight was unexpectedly endearing, though he quickly suppressed the thought.
His lips, which had momentarily quirked into a faint smile, straightened into a line as he remembered who she was.
A human.
One of them. His piercing blue eyes turned cold, and he averted his gaze, as if the sight of her stirred unwanted emotions.
"She's one of those insects," he muttered under his breath, venom lacing his tone.
But as he caught her thoughtful expression from the corner of his eye, his hardened resolve wavered, and another thought crept into his mind. But not for long.
His musings were interrupted by her voice, clear and filled with unexpected determination.
"I'm ready," she declared, her green eyes burning with resolve. "I want to be a vampire!"
Kaito's head snapped toward her, surprised by her boldness. For a moment, he simply stared, his expression unreadable.
Then, a slow, enigmatic smile spread across his lips.
"So be it," he said softly, his voice carrying an ominous finality.
