Fredrick picked the ball with a grin and walked towards her. As Delilah turned to walk away, she felt a tap on her shoulder. Turning around, she saw Fredrick standing behind her.
"Sorry about that," he said, a sheepish grin spreading across his face. "I didn't see you there."
Delilah nodded, a cold smile playing on her lips. So he was the one who threw the ball, "It's okay," she replied. "I should have been paying attention."
Following her statement, she turned to leave. When she looked up, her gaze met his; it was Harrison. He turned and walked away, like he always does.
" Classmate Chen, will you stay and play with us?" a tall, lanky boy said to her.
Delilah arched a brow, "No, thank you. I need to leave now" she rejected coldly and left; Anna behind her.
Ever since Delilah talked down the girl during physical education, she gained respect among the boys; they really thought she was exploding with handsomeness.
…
Delilah arrived home that evening," Dad, Grandma, I'm home" she announced as she took off her school shoes, slipping into a pair of fluffy slippers. Rigby came running down the stairs, and it jumped into her arms.
"Welcome home, young miss. Master had left for C city, he told me to inform you that he will be back soon. The Old madam is in her room, young miss" Mrs. Feng Tian Tian informed with a bow.
Delilah nodded and headed up the stairs; after greeting the old madam Chen, she went to her room.
Emerging from the shower, Delilah stood before the pictures in her room. Picking a little frame, she stared at the picture in it; it was her mom, but the woman she saw in that dream wasn't this woman, who was that woman?
Delilah gaze peered at the picture, she raised her head and picked her own picture; placing the pictures side by side, Delilah's eyes kept darting between the two. She really doesn't look like this woman, or didn't she see it well?
Ko! Ko!- the knock from the door brought her to the present.
" Young miss, dinner is ready" she heard a maid's voice.
" Hm! I'll be down soon" she answered, returning the frames to their position. She was in a robe with a towel wrapped around her chest, so she went to get dressed.
…
Delilah arrived in the dining room, "Evening grandma" she bowed before she took her seat.
"Hm!" Old madam Chen nodded as she ate.
Delilah with her cheek in her palm, her elbow on the table; she kept hitting the chopsticks on the table, lost in thoughts.
" Ahem!" Old madam Chen cleared her throat, but Delilah didn't respond, her eyes staring blankly into space.
