Alex was deep in concentration, scouring through files in her office. Suddenly the same eerie frequency pierced her eardrums, accompanied by a debilitating headache. The visions came flooding back. Alex eyes widened in terror as she clutched her stumbling to the floor. "Help...someone...please!" She cried out, bit her voice was muffled, inaudible to the outside world
As the visions faded, she laid there gasping for breath. But no one came to her aid. The office was silent, as if no one had heard her distress call.
with a shaking hand she reached for the glass of water on her desk and took a sip tryung to compose herself. With baby steps, ahe returned to her chair with questions reeling in her mind (what is happening to me?, why do i feel excruciating pain?, why am i seeing glimpses. Is this one of her memory?). Alex was still pondering on the visions when Reg knocked on the door and entered on her command.
"Hey, Alexa. I was thinking, why don't you join us for lunch today. I would be a great opportunity for you to meet tge team and some of the directors"
Alex nodded welcoming the distraction. "Sounds good. I'd love to"

At the lunch gathering, many worker couldn't stop prying their eyes on the newbie among them. Some even made her the topic of the lunch unknowing to them, Alex could hear their thoughts.
"Would you like to introduce yourself?" Reg asked after dropping bottle on the table
with great confidence, she untroduced herself as 'Alexa smith'. A murmur rippled through the crowd, with some people exchanging skeptical glances.
One lady, her expression dripping with malice, spoke up. "And how exactly did you mange to slither your way into this position, Miss smith?. Did you...ah...'network' your way to the top"
Alex eyes narrowed, her voice taking on a sharp edge. "Oh, i'm clean, all right. No skeletons in my closet, no compromising positions. I held my place fair and square. The position was rightfully mine and i didn't need to sacrufice my integrity to get it"
The room fell silent, with some people looking, away, embarrassed. Alex's gaze swept the room, her eyes lingering on those who had doubted her. "I'm sure some of you are wondering how i managed to overcome the...obstacles in my path. Let me assure you,it was hard work, determination, and a refusal to compromise my values. Not everyone can say the same, can they?"
The lady who had spoken earlier shifted uncomfortably, her thoughts exposed by Alex's piercing gaze. Alex had effectively shut down the rumors, her sharp tongue and demeanor leaving no room for doubt. She was a force to be reckoned with, and everyone in that room knew it.
As Alex washing her mind, the blonde lady who commented about her yesterday appeared with her food on a tray, cutting Alex short. "Who said that there was a rightful position for anyone in this company? Last time i checked, this company was created by a group of people, not one, not two, but a group".
Alex turned around, her eyes landing on the lanyardacross the lady's neck and that was how she knew she was James' daughter. A hint of smile played on her lips as she replied, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Oh i didnt realize that this company had turned into a family dynasty, where nepotism reigns supreme. How quaint. I wasn't aware that some people couldn't stand on their merit but needed daddy's hand to hold onto. How....enlightening".
The room fell silent, with some staff members exchanging uncomfortable glances. Olivia's face reddened, her eyes flashing within anger. Alex's words had struck a nerve, exposing the undercurrent of resentment and privilege.
"I'm surprised you'd know anything about merit,Alexa," Olivia spat, her voice venomous. "After all, you're only here because of your father's legacy"
Alex chuckled, a cold, mirthless sound. "Ah, but that's where you're wrong, Olivia. I'm here because i earned it. And i won't let anyone take that away from me"
The air was thick with tension as Alex and Olivia engaged in a silent stare-down. The room seemed to hold its breath, awaiting the next move.
Reg, sending the escalating hostility, intervened. "Hey, let's keep the discussion civil, shall we?"
But Alex was just getting started, "oh i am just getting warmed up Reg. You see Olivia you think you can ride your father's coattails forever?. Newflash:it won't last.
Olivia's face twisted in rage, but alex continued, her voice razor sharp. "My father dedicate his life to think about this company, and his hardwork earned him the highest shared percentage. What has yours done besides reaping the benefits?"
The room fell into a mixture of gasps and murmurs, with some staffs looking away, uncomfortable.
