2024 ALEX VACTAION HOUSE 6:00pm
As they settled in for the night, Bella couldn't shake off the feeling that Alexa will sneak out again once she is left alone in house. She seemed to be enticed by the world with the way she couldn't stop telling Bella about her adventures.
"Bella, can i ask you something" Alexa asked snuggling into the couch.
"ofcourse, what is it"
Do you think i would remember who i really am?"
Bella hesitated, unsure how to answer "i don't know, Alexa but i do know you are an amazing person no matter what your past is"
Alexa smiled, looking thoughtful. "Thanks Bella, that means a lot coming from you.
MORNING
The next morning, Bella woke up to find Alexa already up and about, making breakfast in the kitchen.
"Hey sleepyhead, i made pancakes!"
Bella rubbed her eyes, impressed. "Wow, you are a morning person?"
Alexa grinned, "i guess i am, who knew"
As they sat down to eat, Bella noticed something strange. Alexa seemed to be... remembering things. Little things like how to make pancakes and where the utensils are kept.
"Alexa, how do you know pancakes?" Bella asked curious
Alexa hesitated looking puzzled. "I...i..i don't know. It just came to me, i guess?"
Bella's eyes narrowed. Was Alexa's memory starting to return?.
As they were enjoying their breakfast, Bella asked Alexa, "so what's the plan for today?"
Alexa thought for a moment. "I want to explore the city more. I feel like there's still so much i have to know about this time period"
Bella grinned. "Well,i'm happy to be your guide. But first let's get you set up with a new phone and got out to catch some fun"
Alexa giggled, "yippee, more adventures"

1985 THE SMITH'S HOUSE, 9:00am
Alex stepped out of her bedroom, looking radiant in her 80s-attire, a bright yellow blouse, high-waisted jeans, and pony tail. She grabbed her bag, took a quick breakfast which aunt Mary prepared before she left for the cafe a d headed for the front door, ready to take on the day. As she opened the door, sh e was surprised to see Jason standing on the porch, his hand poised to ring the doorbell.
Their eyes locked in a moment of silence, the air thick with unspoken words. Alex's heart skipped a beat as Jason's gaze held hers, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
Finally, Jason broke the silence, his deep voice sending a shiver down Alexa's spine. "Good morning"
"Good morning" Alex said sharply
"Can we talk?"
"Uh?....yeah sure. We can. Let's go to the cafe"
As they walked to the cafe, the morning air was filled with an awkward tension between them.
At the smith's cafe, Aunt Mary greeted them with a warm smile. "Hey you two, what can i get you?"
They ordered their coffee and sat down at a quiet table. Jason's eyes locked onto Alex's, his expression intense "when are you going to tell me"
Alex mind went blank, she tried to read his thought, but it was like hitting a brick wall. She couldn't penetrate his mind.
"I...uh..didn't know i had to tell you anything" Alex stammered
Jason's eyes narrowed, "don't play dumb, Alexa. I Know you are working at Chrystal land. What's going on"
Alexa sighed realizing she couldn't avoid the truth. "I just wanted to prove myself Jason. I want to keep my father's legacy. I didn't want anyone's help or pity"
Jason's expression turned grim "that company got your father killed, Alexa, i'm worried sick about you"
Alex heart skipped a beat, she hadn't expected Jason to be so concerned about her. "I can take care of myself Jason, i am not in any danger"
But Jason's eyes told a different story. He was deeply worried and Alex couldn't help but wonder why.
"I hope so, Alexa" Jason said, his voice laid with concern."i really do. But i have a bad feeling about this. Your father's death was no accident, and i don't want you to end up like him".
Alex eyes flashed with defiance, "i am not my father, Jason. I can handle myself"
Jason's gaze intensified. "I know you are not but you are walking in the lion's den. Chrystal land is not a company to be trifled with. They would stop at nothing to get what they want"
Alex leaned in, her voice barely above a whisper. "I know that, Jason. But i have to do this. For myself and my father's memory"
Jason's twisted in frustration."fine, Alexa. But promise me one thing: you would be careful, you'll watch your back and you won't take any unnecessary risk"
Alexa nodded, feeling a surge of gratitude towards Jason "i promise, Jason. I would be careful"
As they finished the coffee, the tension between them was still palpable, but Alexa knew Jason was only looking out for her. Jason drops her at the company but wouldn't leave because he was worried.
"Jason please you have to trust me. I would be careful, once i need a backup i would call you"
Jason sighs deeply and his creased temples loosened up "okay fine. You are no longer kid. I trust you. Have a nice day at work. Remember if victor threatens you dont forget to call me and i'll drop everything am doing and come rescue you, okay"
Alex chuckled, "okay. Take care at your work too. Kick their ass if you have to"
Jason laughed as he ignited the key and zooms off.
"Kick their ass" he repeated the word as he finds Alexa strange.
