Chapter 22 - The hidden feature

"Yes! It's a high-grade common rank potion, and it can increase mana cultivation speed by 100%—unheard of in other common rank potions," August cheered, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

He had expected a modest increase of 30 to 50 percent, but doubling the cultivation speed was beyond his wildest dreams. The one-hour duration was just the cherry on top.

"It will sell like hotcakes," he thought.

[ What did I say, host? Isn't it impressive? You can buy more impressive things from me ]

"Yeah, thank you!" August replied.

"Anyway, what was that earlier? When the potion was getting unstable, I started to sense the elements clearly," August asked, curious about his newfound ability to sense elemental mana.

[ Host will know what it is after viewing the notification ]

[ There are new unread notifications. Do you wish to open them? Y/N ]

"Why don't I remember getting them?" August asked, puzzled.

[ You were deeply concentrated on making the potion. I silenced them to avoid disturbing you ]

"Thanks. Open the notifications."

[ Ding! Host has unlocked one hidden feature of the Rune body: Elemental Sense ]

[ Elemental Sense]

[ One of the hidden features of the Rune body. It helps the host sense elemental mana clearly and increases control over it ]

"What? The Rune body has hidden features? Why didn't I know about this?" August exclaimed.

[ You never asked ]

"Are there more hidden features? Can I know what they are?" August asked eagerly.

[ They're called hidden features for a reason. Host has to unlock them on his own ]

"Tsk! You're no fun," August clicked his tongue in frustration.

[ What fun is there if the host knows everything? ]

"I'll figure them out eventually," August said resolutely.

He had used up half his total mana making the mana water and the potion. Thankfully, he had mana stones to help him recover quickly. Drawing mana from the stones, he absorbed it into himself.

He quickly got to work, making the potion in batches. Initially, he planned to make them one by one, but with the help of Elemental Sense, it became easier to produce them in larger quantities.

After three hours of hard work, he used up all the ingredients he had bought. In front of him on the table lay a hundred Frozen Breeze Mana Potions. Ninety were high grade, and the remaining ten were highest grade, made with rank 2 beast blood.

[ Frozen Breeze Mana Potion ]

Rank: Common

Grade: Highest

Effects: Increases mana cultivation speed by 150%.

Duration: 1 hour ]

"I'll use these when I cultivate," August said.

Knock! Knock! August's head snapped toward the door at the sound. He hurried over and swung it open, revealing Zaya standing there. "Has it been three hours already?" he asked, surprised.

"Yes," she confirmed, entering the room and scanning it. Her eyes landed on the table with the vials filled with Frozen Breeze Mana Potions.

"What kind of potion is this?" Zaya asked, not taking her eyes off the potions.

"It's called Frozen Breeze Mana Potion. Consuming it can increase cultivation speed," August replied, closing the door.

"Hmm, I haven't heard of this potion before." She picked up a vial and examined it closely. Her eyes widened in shock.

"What? It can increase cultivation speed by 100%?" she exclaimed.

She couldn't believe her eyes. Common rank potions typically increased cultivation speed by 10% to 30%, with the highest being 50%. But this potion could increase it by 100%.

"Yes, but how did you know that without consuming it?" August asked.

Zaya hesitated slightly before answering. "It's not much of a secret. I have an elemental eye that allows me to see the elemental mana in anything."

"So that's how you can tell the content of the potion," August understood.

"Why aren't you more surprised?" Zaya asked, confused. Most people were shocked to hear about her elemental eye.

"Well, I am surprised, but everyone has their secrets," August replied.

'He's interesting,' Zaya thought. "What are you going to do with these potions?"

"Obviously, I'm going to sell them," August answered.

"Yourself?" Zaya asked.

"Yeah, why not?" August replied.

"I have a suggestion. You can leave them with me, and I'll sell them for you," Zaya offered.

"That would be great, but what's in it for you?" August inquired.

"The guild will take 10% of the profit," she explained.

'Hmm, I could leave it to her. It would be a hassle to sell them myself, and who would buy from a nobody?' August thought for a moment before answering. "Okay, I'll leave it to you."

"Thank you," Zaya said, moving forward to store the potions in her storage ring.

"Wait! These ten are for me. You can take the rest," August said.

"Understood," Zaya said, storing the potions in her ring. August placed the remaining ten into a pouch and followed her.

"Thank you for doing business with us," Zaya said with a smile at the entrance.

The sun was still up, and he had time. "Let's get familiar with the shelter," he said, opening his beast space to let Aurora out. "Are you ready for some sightseeing?" Aurora hissed in excitement, and they started to stroll around the shelter together.

He and Aurora explored every corner of the bustling shelter, the sounds of merchants and chatter filling the air. He rented a modest room in the residential area. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows, he returned to the alchemist guild and noticed several people leaving with dejected faces.

He ignored them and headed to the counter where Zaya was. "How many potions did you sell?" he asked.

"Hehe, can you believe it? All ninety potions sold in one hour," she said, smiling.

"Really? How much did you sell them for?" August asked, surprised.

"At first, I sold ten for 100C per vial. When I saw they were selling quickly, I sold the remaining eighty for 150C each. Even then, customers bought multiple vials," she explained.

"That's impressive," August said. He had thought of selling the potions for 50C each, which was already expensive considering the cost to make them was around 8 to 10C, including vials and rent.

"And people came looking for more, but they had to leave empty-handed," she added sadly.

"Anyway, after deducting the cost of vials and the commission fee, you'll get a total of 11,600C,"
