"Let's talk about the Goddess Company, one of the best battalions to have ever existed, alongside Mythic and Fairytale Company. It is written in the sacred book that when the Gods died, the Goddesses left standing created Valkyrie of their own image, as their champion warriors. Each Valkyrie in Goddess Company is named after the Goddess who created her— for example, Hera created her champion named after her Hera, Aphrodite created a Valkyrie named Aphrodite, Nu Wa created one as her champion and so on."
A girl in the class raised her hand. "Where are the Goddesses now?"
Miss Kuro lifts up her glasses. "They are probably out there in the galaxy fighting monsters and protecting our home from danger."
"No I mean the real Goddesses."
The students began to whisper among themselves— it seems like they were also curious about their whereabouts.
"I heard from Goddess Luna that after the Invasion, many were badly hurt and had to sleep for at least 1000 years."
They were shocked to hear that, a lot of students wanted to meet their Goddesses, they did create them after all. Knowing they won't be able to meet them for another 1000 years sounded heartbreaking to the Valkyrie.
"Only two of the Goddesses had minor injuries, they are the ones who rule and protect Elysium from dangers of outside intruders, thanks to them Commanders and Valkyrie can live in peace here."
As always Mason thought that was a load of bullshit— considering the mortality rate of Commanders who graduate is up to 95% now. Very few are able to complete their missions assigned to them by the Goddess. Even fewer are able to survive and make it to the higher rank placements, still one Commander did it, the so called Legendary Commander led an unstoppable squad of Valkyrie against the Black Dragon Army. People say he died in that battle protecting the Goddesses but no one knows that for sure except those who were there.
After class was over Tony and Penny headed over to the Dojo to continue their training with Chad. Mash went to go train and get his Valkyrie much stronger, it seems Mash already has two wins under his name, he just needs one more to graduate. Kai looked like he had more to say to him. They both head over to Lunar Park to talk about the conversation they had last night.
"Mason, you are not gonna believe this but I figured out something about the Commander who was killed."
"Alright shoot."
"The Commander they killed was one of us, I had my Valkyrie check their Database to make sure and his name glowed green like ours."
"That sounds really bad."
"The guy was from New Zealand, after thinking about it, whoever killed him must be targeting us, people from Earth."
"Then that means the only way they know we are from Earth is..."
"I know what your thinking Mason, the person hunting us down must be someone else from Earth, there is no other way around this theory. Which means we could be next."
"You said we are the only two in this school with green names right? Then that must mean it has to be some Commander on the outside watching in, they must know of us already and probably waiting for an opportunity to strike."
"Exactly my thought, from now on, stay by your Valkyrie's side and make sure to look out for any suspicious Valkyrie."
'I would rather not get the girls involved or even killed, we could be dealing with strong Valkyrie, perhaps Amanda could help in some way, she looked like a really strong mage— I should talk to her about this and mom as well, I don't want to leave her in the dark.'
"Yeah let's do that, from now on walk in crowded places where people are, never be alone so be careful Kai."
"You too Mason."
Mason decided to head home early while the sun is still up, he asked his Valkyrie to come along, even Leona joined him, they all headed back to Mason's home. While on the way there, he decided to get to know Leona a bit more, to understand her situation.
"So Leona I heard your not from here."
"Oh that, yeah I am from Sol's Domain in the upper side of the planet."
"Sol's Domain?"
"You don't know?"
"Allow me to explain Commander. The world is divided into two parts, which we call Luna and Sol's Domain, a lot of people refer to it as Luna's Faction and Sol's Faction. Luna and Sol are the two Goddesses looking after the last remaining humans here on Elysium." said Mihara.
"I wouldn't exactly say throwing away the Commander's and Valkyrie lives as looking after." said Camellia.
"What exactly do you have against our Goddesses?"
"Oh nothing it is just that my older sister, mother and father died, because of their stupid decisions to send Commanders and Valkyrie to their deaths in their so called noble quests."
"Oh I am sorry for your loss, my condolences." Mihara felt bad, her tail went down and her ears folded down.
"No. I am sorry for getting emotional about it."
Leona saw that it was getting awkward between the two girls, so she decided to break the ice. "Anyway my tribe Solace comes from the Sol Domain. Halfway through the journey we ended up splitting up."
"Did you all get lost or something?"
"No the Chief of our tribe farted on my face when I was laying on the floor trying to take a nap, so I bitch slapped her and they kicked me out of the tribe. I wandered around for days and ended up in the Moon Forest heehee."
"It is okay sister, you still have Cheshire!"
"I am not your sister."
Everyone besides Cheshire looked at her like she was crazy. They continued to walk through the forest being guided by the Glowing Silkies, you could hear their footsteps as they broke branches on the ground.
"So are you ever getting back together with them." said Mason.
"Nope I can't, once you are kicked out of the tribe, you stay out, besides I been out here for about a year and I like it, besides the whole being lonely part, other than that it is great here. I have such a nice life with all the water and food I could ever want."
"Well Leona, if you ever feel lonely you are always welcomed to come to my house, I know what loneliness feels like, after hearing about everyone's tough lives, I think we all do."
"That would be great thanks! By the way I haven't introduced myself properly have I? I am Leona Solace of the Solace tribe, It is nice to be your friend."
"I am Mason, I don't have a last name so don't worry about it."
"Alright!"
"I am Meow Shade of the Meow tribe!"
"No you are not. She is Cheshire Nightshade and I am Mihara Blomma it is really nice to meet you."
"For a tribesmen you are really polite, I thought you would be more crazy. Oh I am Camellia Raven it is a pleasure."
"Yeah people tend to get the wrong idea about us, we are actually a peaceful tribe, who believe in strength is everything, in order to protect your family."
After having a nice little conversation with everyone, they managed to pass the time and reach Mason's home— the problem that arose in his mind was, how exactly is he gonna tell them about the situation, if he can't even tell them about Earth. This was gonna be difficult but the witch always seemed like she knew a lot about this world, he needed answers and hopefully she could give them to him.
