It was the third day since he joined Lunar Academy, he has grown accustomed to his life pretty quickly, he doesn't say much to the lady he assumes is his mom. He gets ready for school, eats his breakfast and walks out into the forest. The neon butterflies which he figured out what they were called are Glowing Silkies, they glow and leave behind magic silk particles as they fly around neon trees. The silkies guide Mason through the forest to the school and go back into the forest once he reaches the end of the dark woods.
His eyes need to adjust to the sunlight everyday because the forest is so dark and no sunrays get through the tree's neon leaves. He catches Mash waiting for him— waving to each other and greeting one another, Mash lives in the school's dorms since his orphanage is really far away. Along the way they meet up with Mihara who also lives in the school since her mother passed away years ago. It is convenient that Mason's house isn't that far from the school since it is in the middle of a forest right next to the Academy and those silkies guide him to school and back home. Mason never questioned why they live in a house in the middle of a dark forest or why they had no neighbors besides the red hair witch, Mason just didn't care about the small details after all this isn't Earth this is a fantasy world.
Mash goes on ahead to meet Miss Kuro in Classroom Z to try his luck with her. Mason uses this moment to ask Mihara something important.
"Hey Mihara." said Mason.
"Y-Yes Ma-Mason." said Mihara.
"Will you be my Valkyrie?"
Mihara began to blush, her tail was wagging like crazy, she could not believe what she just heard a male wanted to become her Commander. "Oh my goddess yes! It would be an honor to be your Valkyrie!"
"Awesome. So how does it work?" Mason asked.
"Oh um, you go to your party settings on your Mana System."

[Would you like to make this party member the squad captain?]
"Hey Mihara do you want to be the squad captain?"
"Wh-What oh no that belongs to someone who is tank or damage type I am just a support type!"
"I see."
Mason starts looking at her bio, stats and equipment, he can see everything about her even where she was raised and how old she is, this Mana System is crazy!
"So if you are a support type does that mean you can heal and stuff?"
Mihara's ears go down when she heard that, in a soft voice she replies "No I am n-not a healer, I am support buffer, that is the reason why Commanders don't like me and no one talks to me besides you and Mash, I am sorry for not telling you this sooner I was scared you would stop talking to me if I told you— please don't hate me Commander."
Mason smiles at Mihara and pats her head gently reassuring her, he isn't mad at her and does care about her.
"You are amazing Mihara just because you can't heal doesn't mean you aren't reliable in a team battle— support buffs if used correctly can be extremely powerful in many situations I am glad I have you on my team!"
Mihara's face turned red as she heard his words, she used her tail to cover her face, she was very happy to hear him say that. They were having a very sweet moment together until some girl jumped out of nowhere onto Mihara making her fall.
"Meow."
Mason was confused by what just happened— he saw another girl sitting on top of Mihara as she laid on the ground, face first. The girl started licking her hands almost like she was grooming herself with her tongue. She had long blue hair with a few long braids with ribbons on them, cat ears, a cat tail, cat eyes and a big old smirk on her face.
"Oh it's you hi."
"Hi meow." said the cat girl.
"Oh who is this?" Mason asked.
"I am Meow Shade." said the cat girl.
"Nice to meet you Meow Shade." Mason replied.
"No that is not her name!" the cat girl gets off Mihara as she is trying to get up. "This girls name is Cheshire Nightshade she is my room mate from my dorm."
"That is what meow said."
"Ah is she your friend."
"N-No." Mihara replied.
"Yes" Cheshire said.
"I just gave her some food because she was hungry and she started following me around ever since."
"I see now." Mason said.
"Hey foxy you dropped your staff." Cheshire picks up her shrine maiden staff and gives it to Mihara.
"My name is Mi-Mihara not foxy! Oh and thank you."
Mason just laughs at this sight.
"Oh Cheshire this is my Commander, Mason."
Cheshire just stares at Mason without saying anything for about 30 seconds, no facial expression, just a very quiet moment then she smirks and speaks.
"Meowster!"
"No he is not your meowster! Great now you got me saying it!"
"Meow he is since he is your Commander, he is Chesires meowster as well!"
"Hey Cheshire want to join my squad then?"
"Yes Meowster!"
Mihara was stunned. "W-Wait just like that?"
Mason was confused. "Is something wrong?"
"N-No Commander nothing is wrong." Mihara said.
Mason did the same process with Cheshire just like he did with Mihara.
"So you are a damage type, hmm what's this? Assassin class?" Mason checks out Mihara's class as well. "Shrine Maiden class?"
Mihara explains to Mason their classes. "Yes Commander the Shrine Maiden Class is about support buffs and some archtypes of shrine maidens, can use rosary pendants to cleanse status ailments without having to use the Mana of her Commander, they are expensive to use. Next is her class the Assassin Class is about stealth attacking her opponents— she is better at hit and run tactics than fighting her enemies up close— that is depending on her Archetype of course."
"What do you mean by Archetypes?" Mason asked.
"Allow me to explain the Valkyrie classes better then Commander, there are 4 class types Tank, Damage, Support and Magic those are straight forward, then there are over a hundred classes each with their own abilities, stats and powers, on top of that each Valkyrie has her own passive ability depending on her race of Valkyrie. Then there are the Archetypes, this is what really changes the playing field. For example depending on what Archetype you choose as the Commander for the Valkyrie her abilities can change drastically your Assassin Valkyrie well be different from another Commander's Valkyrie depending on what Archetype you chose for your Valkyrie. You can't however choose an Archetype for us now until we reach level 30. So it is gonna be a while until we reach that level Commander."
"Meow."
"I see thank you for the explanation Mihara, I understand these classes better now. Well for now how about we go to the cafeteria and get something to eat?"
Both Mihara and Cheshire said "Yes!"
'While we are in the cafeteria I better go look around for Camellia. It is crazy to think just a few days ago, I had no Valkyrie and now look at me now, putting together a team. This is gonna be one hell of a school life.'
