And so, my path to becoming a blacksmith started due to this side quest. Creating common weaponry seems like a not-too-difficult task I guess. Now I can start experimenting with my Metamon to make some weapons. I guess I'll start with a kitchen knife.
"Awakens Buga and Cyber Piro"
As my chant was called upon my Metamon, both of the Metamon appeared in front of me clueless of why they were suddenly being called.
"Today, we will try something new. As for you guys, you will assist me in creating a weaponry."
For my first time doing the weapon, I wanted to make a weapon for Frederic, and seeing how fast he is, the weapon that I will create for him is no other than Kukri. As it has a shape like a knife and from watching Forge on magma shows, I seem to have a knack for it. It is a knife that has a bit of shape like a sickle.
Because it is a melee weapon, I guess Frederic is suitable for it. This is an experiment, after all, I have to do this side quest to have some rewards afterward maybe, I don't know yet. After doing some surveys, there is a mix of classes in citizens some of them are chefs, engineers, blacksmiths, etc. But due to blacksmith class is hard to embrace as it needs some tools for it, people choose to ignore it but this is not the case for me. I have unlimited resources that I can use to be a blacksmith.
As usual, I need Buga to make me an ore and Cyber Piro for fire, the metal that I will need to make Kukri is a spring steel. Should I make a dual Kukri sword? I guess...No? Kukri is more efficient as a one-wind sword for a faster sheath. Spring steel is a low magnesium alloy and it has a boiling point of 1,246 °C which is the temperature that I will use to heat Buga.
*After feeding some dirt and heating the Buga
And... As expected I can make my metal like what I do with gold. With the assistance of Cyber Piro, I started to shape the Khukri. To make it more defined I make the metal flatten but not flat as it may crumble. It does feel funny why I feel so natural doing it although I did any blacksmithing in my life, perhaps because of my class that I can do it without any coach.
*ting! ting! ting! sound of metal clanging
After several hours of shaping and bending the Metal, it's time to reduce the temperature and make the metal harden. To my surprise it turned out decent, I expected to fail on the first try but It didn't. Now, take some claw material drop from Shubael for the handle, and done! The Kukri is done.
[Congratulations you have completed your side quest]
[Received 1x Hidden Reward]
[Side Quest Updated]
Woah what a day to be honest. A hidden reward? I guess I will claim it later, as for now, I need to give this kukri to Frederic to test.
"Return at once my Metamon! Good works, gonna give both of you good food"
